Charvel is well worth the price difference imo for the Floyd rose 1000 and the Seymour Duncan pickups

Agree with the comment that the Charvelle is worth the increased price,. If you can't spot the differences then you're probably fine with the lower spec Jackson.

Changing pickups is easy.
Changing a bolt-on neck to a neck-through, not so much.

Absolutely, and the ebony fretboard. No question the Charvel is the better guitar. It's going to play and sound better. Quality control is going to be hit or miss on either, but they are both technically Fenders and Fender Mexico a higher level than Fender Asia. I have a pre-Fender American Jackson and I am tempted on the Charvel.

My 13-yr old wants one with 24 frets, which this one has. He's coming from classical guitar (5 yrs), and i know nothing about electric guitars. Is this good for a beginner?

As a beginner wanting to learn electric guitar, are these good/beginner friendly or anything cheap which can do same job?

Not a great guitar for a beginner due to the Floyd rose. I'd recommend starting with a hard tail guitar.

Search for Gretsch on here. The hard tail ones, not the ones with a Bigsby. Those are pretty decent starter guitars.

I'd say no this guitar is not a good guitar for a beginner. the problem with this guitar is it has a tromolo bar which adds a layer of complexity to the guitar when it comes to keeping it in tune and changing strings. a "hard tail" aka "regular" electric guitar doesn't have this so its a bit easier to operate.

made in mexico, ebony fretboard, seymour duncan SSL-6 and pure shred pickups, floyd rose 1000, and alder (more expensive and harder wood, not that its better) body...

the charvel beats the SL3X in terms of value for money. I've played both but I'm not really a tremolo guy. Since I'd wanna change out the pickups anyway, and block the tremolo I'd go for the jackson, but keeping it stock, 100% I'd go for the dk24.
