Possibly. There has been a new corded version at Lowe's with black accents. It has reduced weight but also one of the adjustment levers was moved from the front to the back of the unit.

For a saw this big, I can't imagine using it mobile on a jobsite without power and therefore wanting to run it off batteries, but of course, everyone's use-cases are different.

I have an 18v 7.25" Bosch miter saw that weighs 26 lbs vs this one at 59.3 lbs. I got it for $180 with batteries, but I already had 10 Bosch batteries.

At the time, I was pretty set on getting the corded 12" Axial Glide miter saw. I didn't need cordless, but the niche of being less than half the weight and that crazy sale price made up my mind.

On the other hand, a cordless circ saw is indispensable. Throw it in a bag with a speed square, cut anything anywhere.

Thanks for your input. I would be using it at home on a Ridgid cart (that I'm hoping it strong enough). I currently have the 10" Ridgid version of the Glide and am honestly wondering if I even should keep the 12" since it's heavier and takes up more space.

Prior to this, my workhorse miter saw was a 10" Hitachi/ Metabo HPT (~24 lbs). My shop was so small, I was storing the miter saw after every use.

IMO, if the 10" is serving you well, and is well calibrated, and if you have a variety of good blades, there's no reason to change horses.

OTOH, the soft start on the Bosch, and especially the clearance when permanently mounted back up against a wall, in a smaller shop -- those are major quality of life features for some.

I think your Ridgid cart will handle the Bosch without issue. The largest Ridgid saws are similar in size and weight.
