For those who only want cash, not points:

$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.

Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.

Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.

Any 0% apr period on this?

Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Not only is it in OP's message, it's also in the subject. Good grief.

I have the free Chase Sapphire which i downgraded from a Chase Sapphire Preferred over 48 months ago. Any chance I would be eligible for the SUB if i close down my free chase sapphire card? i read that i would need to wait for 30 days after closing. Is this true?

That was a risky hacked link that could get you shut down from Chase.
Only time will tell if those who used the hacked link will qualify for a 100,000 referral

Did anyone confirm if we can apply this card again, if it was cancelled 2 years ago?

I think you only need to wait about 1 week.

Hmmm, I have the sapphire preferred. Can I downgrade to the free Saphire and still keep my points? (I hadn't known there was a free Saphire)

You can downgrade to Freedom Flex. It's a better card.

Yes, but you have to downgrade to the Freedom unlimited or Flex card. I don't think you can have the no fee sapphire if you wanted to apply for the CSP.

That may only work for those who apply when the referral link is active YMMV

If the referral link matters to you, wait to apply for your card until you see the referral link is active.

We should know more about this when the referral link because active

I am not a churning pro, so I defer to the experts. In my limited experience I was locked in at the point I took the deal.

Can I sign up for this 100k sign-up bonus, then at some point in the near future upgrade to the Sapphire Reserve to redeem those points for travel with 50% bonus value?
Yes, after 1 year you can make the product change.
Best time is probably when your 1 year annual fee posts then call or send SM to do the product change.

Question. Looks like I opened Chase Sapphire Preferred in March 2021. I downgrade it last week to Freedom Unlimited. Am I eligible for this? It seems like exactly 48 months since I opened Preferred.

Downgrade to a freedom or a flex, you'll still keep the points.
