I know that this is the option for storage expansion to play games from on Xbox Series consoles, but man is it sad to see a 2TB for $200 being a flaming hot deal when regular 2TB m.2 Gen 4 NVME SSD's can be found for ~$120 without too much issue, not to mention the options for higher capacities. Proprietary storage was one of the things that really hurt the PSVita, and Xbox is similarly getting murdered this generation in sales (it isn't even close), and I think the storage is one part of the failure (games of course as well).

Talk about a huge rip off, people who are willingly paying for this are the reasons companies think they can get away with this crap..... A drive like this should not be any more than $140-150 at max counting their kick backs, especially with how cheap 2TB drives currently are getting running around $100 for the non big name brands.

Yes considered crap to average schools. I went to school here and the schools are good to average imo. Basically, go to college and you golden, Close drive to Milwaukee which sucks imo. Kenosha and Racine are nice places to live, in-between city/cow farms Wink Taxes can range from 3-7k. On top of that some areas have HOA which can cost $30 to $100 a month!

Anothersold fast [zillow.com], this2-days sold 400k [zillow.com].

But houses are still selling fast and high, lot of jobs like Amazon warehouses nearby and MS plans a build [racinecountyeye.com] too!

Mate, the 1TB variant went for $89.99-99.99 during BF 2024 and I don't regret buying one at all. Launch price was $189.99 and 1TB of Series X internal storage was plentiful until recently.

Yeah 2TB is much more appealing but price point hasn't going down faster as 1TB for obvious reason. 1TB of internal storage and 1TB of memory card are plentiful for the average casual gamers.

Mind you, this thing is fast! WAY FASTER than the $50 WD External SSD w/ 3.2 USB A-C cable.

250+GB of COD BO6 game to transfer: 7 mins vs 45+ mins respectively lol

I ain't gonna wait. That Xbox One/PS4 era lol

I mean, I snagged a Corsair MP600 2030 2TB back in October for $110, and it appears on and off for $130 too. Granted, not sure what speed Xbox requires or recommends, as the one I got is 5k read/3800 write.

Hi everybody. I've read all of the posts here, including the dive into Long Island real estate?!?! Lol

Anyways, I have a series S and in order to get the kids to stop fighting (6 and 8) I need to add storage so they can play whatever age appropriate stuff they want with GP Ultimate and my old backlog of library titles. I think I 1 TB will be plenty, I don't plan on installing flight Sim 2025. Would prefer an SSD because kids "ain't got no time to chill". What would be my best option for about $100? Thanks!

The issue is people are falsely comparing these expansion cards to m.2 2280 drives. They're not m.2 (only the internal storage is m.2 of the 2230 size). What they are is basically a CFexpress card. If you look at a teardown of one you'll see. They went this route for ease of use and hotswap capability. Unfortunately that comes at a cost though. If you compare the Xbox expansion cards to other CFExpress cards you'll see the original price is either in line or significantly cheaper than similar ones used for professional cameras. Regarding this deal, $200 is a steal for a 2TB CFexpress card that can reach speeds of 2.4GB/s.

These expansion cards are not m.2 2230 drives in a case. They're CFexpress cards. Only the internal storage is m.2 2230. CFexpress cards aren't cheap either.

So the consumer has to pay for MS/Seagates poor choices, especially when they make it so you cant use an alternative that is readily available, again people are only rewarding the company for there greed...

Did y'all see what Switch 2 is using for storage? MicroSD Express cards only. These cost $60 for 256gb of storage and that's currently the largest. Yeeouch!

PlayStation has always outsold Xbox, this isn't a new phenomenon. The relative sales trends in this console generation are identical to the previous generation. The external storage is almost entirely secondary to whether someone wants to play PlayStation or Xbox Games.

Just got the WD version of this a few months ago. Working good. These are great cause it's so easy to install and remove when needed. Just plugs right in the back, no need to pull the console apart like PS5.

To be a pc company it always boggles my mind how M$ locks down there hard drive. Everything is fairly simple to replace on Sony's platform.
