I agree that this is a great deal for around the house type stuff. For those who may not know:

1. The masonry bits only really work if you have patience and a drill with a hammer feature. An impact drill is not the same. Depending on the material and size hole it could take a while, especially in concrete.

2. The metal drill bits are titanium and won't hold up to abuse. Get some cutting oil and if it's a thick piece of metal try letting it cool down a bit in between holes and it will preserve the longevity. Also more force = faster damage to the cutting edges.

3. Metal and concrete will destroy wood bits. Metal will dull masonry bits. Drilling too fast in wood with a masonry or metal bit can overheat the cutting surface and prematurely dull the bit.

Seem like a trash set. I hat all those individual push strips. Trash bits in a larger than necessary case.

I have this and it's not the best. The drill bits are weak and you'll end up spending more time trying to do your DIY in frustration. It's on clearance for a reason.

I would get this from Costco vs Amazon just for the return policy IF anyhting ever went wrong.
What's their return policy at Costco? Never had any problem returning something to Amazon for the record

I would pass on this set.
The bits are cheaply made and will strip/break with heavy use.
With light use on soft surface material, it'll probably be fine. But the most valuable thing here is probably the case itself to organize the tools.
You're better off buying some higher quality bits that will last a long time so you won't have to replace them.

Agreed.
And I've noticed that Bosch bits that come in their smaller "Custom Case" series are much higher quality than ones in the larger cases (like this one).

Can confirm what the others have said. Was at my local Costco a couple of day ago and it was $25.

Mine is sold out, so I was not aware of the clearance price.

Okay, I'll bite. What's a good set to invest into? I've got a bunch of random cases (most of them have random, primarily smaller bits, broken) and want to get a single good quality set

wera makes great screwdriver bits, bosch makes fantastic masonry drill bits (not the ones that they sell in this set as they are made of cheaper quality), milwaukee's shockwave titanium is good for wood.
in general, Milwaukee's shockwave bits are pretty good for what you pay and should last you a long time unless you're just straightup misusing it

Is this even cheaper at a Costco warehouse?
Just called them, same price at the warehouse.
You can click on warehouse tab on the app and click search warehouse inventory and type item # 4091000 to see if warehouse around you have it in stock for cheaper price. I checked metro atlanta and it is showing $24.97 at some local stores here which is clearance price at Costco.
