I ordered mine last week. Got it ,went to set it up Noticed the backlight on the left side had an issue, but still tried to set it up.
I was unable to pair a remote (I already had one) It was able to turn it on move around ( to select language) then went to pairing screen.. Did reset on remote a bunch of times, using 3 diffrent methods.
So on to the really weird part.. With the pairing issue and the screnn issue I started a return on the TV at about 4:45pm today, and immediatly ordered another. Wife came home at 6pm and said there was a TV on the front porch. I was like Holy cow that was crazy fast. went out got it , and went to set it up and same pairing issue, after a ton of resets of the remote, and trying to pair and Also tried hardwiring the TV and using the APP. it paired once (poped up a code on the TV and I put it in the app) and looks like it is connected, but wont control. , I am at a loss... Ohh the weird part.. The TV was dropped off at my door at Before noon (on camera), so ya someone shipped another one before I even did the return / reorder at 4:55pm.. So I guess I should expect another one from my reorder, and the one that arrived this mornign was a doubleship? This is crazy
My guess is there is some sort of firmware issue with these (or subset of them) that the "refurbish" process isint catching. My remote works enough to turn the TV on, select the language, as well as go back to the language selection menu, which seems strange because after you select language it goes to Pairing, why would it want to pair if I am already using a remote to control it?
If it is firmware, what would be nice is a file I can put on a flash drive and plug it in and have it update it. If thats even possible with this TV.
My next steps are (not in any order)
I had trouble pairing one of the remotes I had already but a different, older style (without the Netflix/hulu/etc buttons) paired right away.
All around solid deal
Unfortunately, the Amazon Fire TV can't display chroma 4:4:4 properly with any supported resolution, so text isn't displayed properly.
