Has it been reliably confirmed that Klipsch has finally overcome all the amp failures that plagued its previous series of subwoofers, with these new RP subs? I've seen so many horror stories on audiophile websites about the older models...
Unfortunately no bro, I bought the 16" a couple months ago, the amp died within a week.
MY SPL-150 just died at about 3 years. Seems like maybe i shouldnt go Klipsch again. Whats the best sub in the 500-1k range?
Def the RP-1400, the step up from this unit. These have a 5 year warranty now, and any electrical engineer will take one look at the internals and tell you it is over-engineered to prevent the past amp issues they have had.
Any sub that will compete with the RP-1400 will be more than a $1000 (usually significantly more). The RP-1400 has been $699 quite a few times now.
The price didn't come up with Chrome, but it did with Edge. Thanks for the encouragement. Ordered one.
My SPL-120 died after a power surge. The second time the amp craped out. Not the amps fault, this time, but still. Moving on to the newer platform. I hope the amps are more durable this time around...
I ordered one thinking about ordering a second one. I have plans to build some at least 18's but I guess if these sound good enough I can always sell the crown amp.

IMO the app is overrated unless you are constantly changing the sound profile, but most sub users "set it and forget it", so not worth much for most.
This one is in a whole different league as far as output and components used.

16.5hz, they claim. Unless you hate your house, you do not want 16.5 hz to be especially loud. It'll shake things apart.
