PSA: Looks like total wireless changed the policy from 60 days after activation to 60 days of active service. This went in to effect April 1st 2025.

Good phone and good deal.

The a35 is good, and is likely the last of the "good" Samsung a-series phones with an SD slot. The a36 and a56 don't have them.

I got the previous (nearly identical) a54 deal and was very happy with it. The two phones are architecturally almost identical (same processors and ram). It's not a speed demon, but is fast enough to do all "normal" stuff, like social media, email, phone, etc... without any real performance problems. Maybe a gamer would be disappointed with it, and it will be getting OneUI 7 very, very soon.

Wow.

Porting in a number is a hassle -- if you don't already have a phone number.

The whole ID verification is just...how do the kids say it nowadays...."totes wack".

No idea how they're storing your image and credentials -- or who has access to them -- or what the process is for them to expunge that data -- or who is ensuring they're following best practices.

Oh who am I kidding, your DL and image are being sold to the highest bidder. We all know that.

I have an A35 on route from TW due to arrive tomorrow. I just put one iPhone 13 in my cart that are free with 3 months of service and another free a35 in my cart. total shows $220 that's $165 for the free iPhone with 3 months of service and $55 for one month of service on another free A35 on website while signed into my TW account. I was able to go all the way to the screen where I put my credit card info in and agreed to terms. Sounds like I got farther than you in the checkout process with free device promotion working. I noticed these promotions say only two devices per account and the two phones in my cart would be a total of three devices in my account. I'm not sure I want to order any more devices though, I was hoping to receive discount service cost from additional lines but it doesn't appear that any of these device promotions give additional line service discounts. someone claimed I should be able to call Total Wireless after I activate secondary lines and get service reduced to $30 from $55 but I'm doubtful. obviously with these iPhone promotions that's not possible because you pay for 3 months of service in advance
Thanks for your reply.
I found the trick and updated my comment above. I was able to get the 2nd phone free with $30 plan. However, I just did a quick test for ordering iPhone 13, it will charge me $165 for it, so there is no cheaper plan for iPhone 13, even it's for a second line.

Unlike you,I can't get the offer online for a second line of service for $30 for another A35 to acompany my first A35 I ordered a few days ago. No matter,I would just be purchasing for resale anyways and I think paying $165 for an iPhone 13 with 3 months of service will make more reale profit vs $60 A35 anyways, unless I'm mistaken. I should be able to sell the iPhone 13 as soon as I activate it and be able to include 3 months of unlimited service with the sale. granted I will only be able to sell it to someone who's too lazy to do the deal themselves

I had one phone activated March 28 and another phone activated on April 5. I'm not going to deal with the hassle of seeing if one of the phones gets unlocked and the other phone not unlocked. I downgraded the $55 plan down to the $40 plan for both phones so after discount and $5 each autopay option the total was $65. Them changing policys the last minute and not updating their site until a couple days ago is lame.

The deal is not $55 but more like $110, due to the new 60-day service requirement (so now you actually must pay for the 2nd month).
This makes it a so-so deal, coupled with the port-in AND identity verification stuff (where some 3rd party gets a copy of your biometrics).

I did the ID verification when I ordered my first phone, so I doubt they will ask me to do it again. Anyway, when I tried to order the 2nd phone, it showed the full price of the phone for my account before it would ask me to do the ID verification(I went through to the final step before checkout, seeing no ID verification).

********
Never mind, I found the trick to get the 2nd free phone with $30 plan!
When I was asked "Already a Total Wireless customer?", I should NOT enter the phone number for my first line, but go ahead to pick the phone just like I ordered the 1st phone. It looked to me a bug. BTW, it didn't ask me to do the ID verification for the second time.
Glad you got it to work, but the steps you went through were different than the steps I went through. I never got anything asking "already a Total Wireless customer?" I was already logged into my account on my computer. Did you order via a mobile device? Maybe that's the difference? Would love to circle back when the 2nd phones arrive to see how our bills are calculated for 2 lines.

You can switch to the $35 plan for the 2nd month

Okay, this makes the total $90. So perhaps the OP should update the title.
It doesn't change the deal by much though - even at $110 this phone is worth the money (it has SD and eSIM - which makes it very nice).
The annoying hassle with porting and ID, plus adding the 60-day service might make it borderline, if you don't necessarily need the service (and just want a good phone on the cheap).

I also logged into my account on my PC, where I saw the question ""Already a Total Wireless customer?" on the top, and I should not say yes. That is, the "login" makes me eligible for the cheaper $30 plan for the 2nd free phone.
How does this Samsung Galaxy A35 compare to Moto Edge 2024?

Thank you for the link. I've just submitted my complaint—now I'll wait and see what happens.

My complaint is similar to yours. My Edge reached its 60-day mark yesterday and did not unlock. I called the unlocking department, and they told me that I need to satisfy the new unlocking policy...
make sure you count from activation (due date of bill), not date of purchase.

Maybe 300 for iPhone 13 if you resell it?

I believe you're mistaken you can downgrade the second month to $40 on your first phone. If you get a second device then you should be able to get discounted service for $30 per month. So $90 for first device with auto pay and $60 for second device.

I can't get offered the $30 second line to accompany my first A35 I ordered afew days ago. I went to Total Wireless on a new browser added free A35 into my cart. At that point I am asked to sign in or create a new account so I don't know how you get around this where you ask this question? I signed in with my email.
