I want to thank OP for the post but I went with your suggestion which seems a bit better, although the same. My only concern is what happens when I do not pay for 2nd month?

No need to pay for the 2nd month, the phone will still unlock on 61st day.

Does the Straight Talk phone have the SAME bands as the TracFone model?

I have Verizon and would want to add this phone to our plan as a backup and I know TracFone phones are Verizon-based.

I'm wondering if the Straight Talk model will have any problems obtaining a 5G UW (Ultra Wideband) signal on Verizon.

I'm assuming you don't get any of the accessories as with OP's deal...

It's not - but, for a Tracfone it's a lot more than the usual offerings, which is usually 1.5G for the year. Plus, unlimited talk and text for a year, if you talk and text a lot, can save a ton of cash.

I usually get one of the $50 phone offerings, most of the time I don't use data or texts. But, this year I've had to get several $10 "add-ons" to increase both my data and texts - more than I would have spent on this phone with unlimited.

6GB are very like to be the memory size. The data should be 24GB per year.

There have been a few unlimited talk+text with 15GB/yr plans from November but I hear they count data even over wifi

Not this model but I did pick up a Motorola from Total and the device does pick up the 5G UW from my Verizon service.

I bought this from straittalk. Still waiting for it to get unlocked. The phone is good. You can tweak it :example: disable animations and it is fast enough. Better battery life than a35(i also bought one of these). The a16 is 4gig not 6 or 8. I don't use talk or text just data, so I am going to try Roamless eSIM 12gig data lifetime for $15 on it. It has esim so you can switch it to another service if you plan to stream video. If phone unlockes as planned next pickup will be iphone 13 from total wireless and more a35's. Im just wondering if better deals will popup after April 15~

I wish that were the case - 4GB RAM and 6GB of data. If you're looking to use this phone to unlock it for an alternate carrier, this isn't a bad deal.

To make the deal super slick. Shop through CapOne shopping site for $7 cash back and pay with Chase card that has the 25% cash back for straight talk. Making the phone $30-35.

My experience with A15 has only been bad. Speed, camera, fingerprint scanner issue are just a few. to name I do not expect A16 to be much different. As such, I do not recommend anyone buying Samsung models lower than A20 series. A10s are just bad.
