As far as the garage storage goes, it isn't really a problem here. I live in GA and we don't get that kind of cold weather I guess. We do get some days that are less than 32.. this past winter we had alot of temps in the 20's and upper teens, but the temp inside the garage is much higher, and I don't think the shampoos and cleaners would freeze that easy.
And the heat hasn't been a problem either. I was afraid of storing my candles there the first year, but did successfully and nothing happened.. Now, storing in the attic is another thing. One year I packed candles up in with the Christmas stuff and they melted together.

I was on a cleaning spree this morning...Claned the toilets, scrubbed the shower, countertops, swiffer dusted the blinds and fans, pledged all wooden furniture, folded 2 loads of laundry and made lunch..Now I am ready to Faint

Ank - I also belong to "when in doubt throw it" mindset...
WHOO HOOO!!! You are rockin the cashbah today M2T!!!!! I gotta do more super cleaning here ... must steal motivation from you.

I am of that mindset myself ---- I used to be more of a packrat ... but I have begun telling myself ... if I have not used it in the last 2 years (and can not come up with a CONCRETE situation where I WILL WITHOUT DOUBT be using it in within the next year) then I need to find a new home for the stuff. That excludes legal paperwork that must be retained for at least 10 years.

Quote from tn_native :
Yep, the ones I printed were. Just wish I could print more than 2
I would be happy to print some for you and mail them your way Smilie PM your addy to me! I think I will skip these and just get the Red Baron for my freezer & I am limited on room.

Quote from ank220 :
I am not a "hoarder" per se (but could become one, I'm suspect), but I do have the "can this be reused/recycled/repurposed/passed to someone else" kind of mindset. ..... My biggest issue is with the "passed to someone else" stuff - I get it together, but it often doesn't leave the house as quickly as I (or DH) would like.

I can guarantee that my little girlie pie is NOT better behaved when it comes to leaving things alone... and she's a climber - so I think I will go ahead with the purging the room part, but figure out some other storage space!!

We do have a tiny outside shed too, but between bugs (spiders galore) and the weather, I can't even imagine what I'd put out there. Like you mentioned, I'd hate to have stuff freezing or melting with temp changes. (also why I haven't utilized the tiny attic we have for stockpile) Plus, there's the danger of water damage, etc... For garage storage, I would think that if you store the liquidy things on the house wall, that there would be a little less chance of freezing because it shoudl retain some heat/temp stability from the house area. I guess if you are really worried, you could also put a space heater in there during winter time and run it to stay at 45-50ish. Still cold, but not likely to damage anything.

Ugh... finally getting the actual bills from the docs from DH's first ER visit. Oh the fun.

Has anyone else noticed a lot of junk mail after ordering q's off of eBay?
I have to take stuff to others RIGHT AWAY ... if I let it sit I have had it and it will sit forever! I must make use of the motivation which inspired me to get the bags/boxes together and drive them to their destination RIGHT AWAY! LOL Sometimes inconvenient ... but better than having the stuff sit there longer! LOL

My 2 year old is also a monkey .... I have had to work hard on teaching her that thre are some things that are NEVER EVER to be climbed upon (such as bookcases etc.) SIGH Good luck with the purging!

The problem with unheated garages/shed here is that we get well below frozen for a few months each year (and for some time we are below zero) so EVERYTHING freezes. Running a space heater would become so costly --- I think even adding insullation would not really cut much of those costs. So that is not really an option ... I suppose if one built a really energy efficient structure & then heated it with an oil burning heater .... I think it would cost more than I could make from a GS selling my stockpile. I dunno --- will think more.

Sorry about the med bills - they are AWFUL!!!! I feel your pain! I don't think that I have gotten any extra junk mail, but I don't pay much attention to it & promptly pitch it.

Hope you have an enjoyable day!!!

I swear I am going to be that mom who walks her HS senior to home room everyday laugh out loud I just can't imagine letting my kiddos out of sight for even a second. These stories about missing kids are so sad, and it's even sadder to know that most of the time, some family member knows where they are nod
I know!!! I feel so bad as the last time he was seen was walking down the hall with all the other kiddos into his 2nd grade classroom. Can you imagine that? Going to the science fair with your kiddo --- watching them walk down the hall to their classroom (IN the school SURROUNDED but teachers, students, etc) and then you never ever see them again! It makes me relive the times my lil guy's school lost him at the school & he was fine ... but what if he had not been? What if some nut had come and picked him up from that sidewalk where he was sitting outside school and they hadn't noticed! My thoughts and prayers are with that family!

Quote from gatorcater :
has anyone tried to order PJ only to find out that none of the stores in town accept online orders? The closest one to me is 30 miles away. Just wondering if anyone thinks they would honor the peelies since the peelies are being advertised here... look around
I would give it a shot!!!! Call them and ask them - it isn't your fault they don't take online codes!

Yes - I think it would be a prob here because we get below freezing & below zero for a lot of winter and then into the 90's in summer ... so I think our temps are too extreme. Thanks for your thoughts though.

I just got one yesterday at T. Am HP and I am so far totally in love with it!!! I love laying in bed w/ my lappy and printing from the links as I see them, OMG the best!

I am NO expert but I just strated Re doing RA and here is what I found helpful:

Rite Aid - Master List of RA Printables

then I just read the weekly thread and copy n paste all the sample deals of the Pros then print it out a decifer what is best for me.

Some stores are super coupon nazis but then some are like scan scan scan! I think the most important thing with RA is the figure out each week what is the freebie to get you closest to $20 to use with the 5/20 to get the rebate items for free with the $5 off of the 5/20 then get the rebate as a MM an then turn around and use it to keep rolling

PLus with RA there is a lot of dbl dipping because you keep the reciepts so you still have them to file with MfRebates etc....

IDK maybe we can help each other for a bit Cool
Excellent suggestions! Thank you! I will definitely start reading up. I have a RA right across the highway from me, so there's no reason NOT to do them, and I have heard about lots of good deals there. Woohoo!

On another note, has anyone had the $5/2 Benadryl et al do strange things? Mine kept scanning at 2.29, which was the price of one of the Benadryl sticks. What's really strange is I had 4 of the sticks and 2 coupons. They scanned those 2 coupons FOUR TIMES, and each time, it took off 2.29. Confused I ended up having to leave all my stuff there because my kids were having fits and I was way too stressed out to deal with it all. Bummer because I had printer ink in my order and I desperately need printer ink. Oh well, guess I will have to head back to T at my earliest convenience!! Embarrassment

In the last 6-10 months, our local county papers have started carrying inserts. These are the weekly papers and usually come out on Wednesdays. One has the inserts a week ahead, and the other has them a week behind. Always confuses me which is which. Anyway, you might want to check your county papers, and even see if there's a Spanish paper. Supposedly our local Spanish paper, which is free, has the inserts, but I can never find the stinkin' paper. Boxes are always empty when I get to them....
Thanks, I am going to investigate furtherEvil

Quote from flugette :
That system sounds like something I could keep up with. I've also toyed with the idea of a big binder to keep all clipped Qs in (that way, when I need one, I just look it up in the binder, and its already clipped, instead of having to clip one Q at a time from my stacks of inserts) and then little individual coupon organizers for each store. Since my Target coupons rarely get used at , say, Safeway, etc. Guess I just need to pick a system and go with it!....
On the topic of the organizing of q's......I've had pretty good luck keeping 3 separate small coupon files, one for Target, one for Walgreens, and one for general groceries that's separated into the different sections of the store: cleaning, paper products, laundry, frozen, baby, cereals, etc. I make this work by clipping everything from about two inserts that I think I would need (I found that after awhile I've become fairly accurate with this.) Everything fits because I keep my Target/Walgreens filled with 'other' things. For instance, all health and beauty coupons, dental-related coupons, medication coupons, and candy coupons I store in sections in the Walgreens one because that's where those typically get used. I use the extra space in my Target file to hold any coupons I have tons of multiples of.

It works well most of the time. I can fit all three files in my medium-sized purse so I have them all with me to access if I need to but don't have to haul a binder around. I live with a brain injury and tend to leave things behind if I get too much stuff going so it's best if I can make it out with just DD and my purse! The color-coding in this system also works well for me. I know the files better as 'blue, red, and green' better than I do as 'Target, Walgreens, and groceries' Teehee

Quote from Dec12Girl :
....Some folks get them from dumpsters (they lock them up here so you can't get to them) and some folks like TN have deals with her carrier ---- some have deals with local gas stations (I used to have one for a short time but they decided that they couldn't give me their left overs anymore and now throw them away in their locked up dumpsters) --- some have arrangements with local grocery stores ... I would call around and ask. You might have more friendly receptions than did I and if you find a source of free coupons that would rock!!! As far as getting papers for .25 - .99 I have not seen any in my area --- but it is possible.

Lucky you on the printer!!!....
Sadwalk I used to be a paperboy.....errrr girl. Girly

That was 5-10 yrs. ago....wish I would have kept that job, have thought about doing it again just for the money and any leftover q's and because my job options are limited but with all of the crazy stuff that happens in our society today I'm not sure I would like being out in the dark between 4-6 AM with all the crazies.

ETA: And I sooooooooo jinxed myself talking about that printer!!!! My wireless network has been down all freaking day....luckily dh came home on his lunch break and ran a cable for me so I could use my laptop but I still can't print an q's right now since the printer isn't working with the wireless network right now either.

Our router decided that it wanted a summer vaca I guessInsane

As of now. I pick out a new phone. It is a Samsung Strive. My choice was base on what I was using and what I would be able to hear on for my future phone. Pretty much let the cell phone guy pick it out. It was cheap but I wanted a basic data package. Which I have NOT figured out. I can find slickdeals on it. Read the Hot deals page and that is it. Using the keyboard. No. Figuring it all out. No. But I am at the library trying to read the basics online and learning. I should be seeing my kiddo this weekend maybe between his laughter and snickers we will show his mom how to use this phone.

Lunch was good. Went peelie shopping. Papa came home with me Smilie Now again how to order pizza from my phone. Life will be good. I found some Clorox too. Nice day for hunting.

No call from Kohler. But I feel the day is good so far.

I hope eveyone elses day is going good. I just keep laughing that I do NOT understand my phone. I better not have the next bill up to 1k while trying to figure it out.

My dh is a cell phone tech and I cannot for the life of me use anything beyond the basic functions of my phone. Maybe he's made me lazyLMAO He gets his service free and mine is SUPER cheap. I could have a data plan super cheap too but I would need to learn how to use the phone for that....maybe someday.

I used mine to log onto SD today to receive and reply to a PM from inside a Target. How's that for Crazy

And I don't have any cute kid pictures to share with you all so I'm going to substitute this one instead.

Yes, enjoy it while you can. They grow up really fast these days. Just yesterday I found out 4th graders at our school were beating up a classmate. EEK! The amount of aggression I see is crazy. We live in a nice suburb and don't have trouble with drugs or violence but bullying is out of control.

Some wacky tobaccy going around at T's price meetings, me thinks!

It's nuts. I make sure I watch my kids going in to school every morning and I always get beeped at because I wait. We have a drop off and cars just drive through and let the kids out. Half watch, half barely stop and let the kids out before speeding away. My 11 yo DD wants to walk to school and I said no. We're about 10 minutes away but just 3 long streets...I just can't let her.

Check the RA free mouse pad thread for my receipt from my last trip - .01! LMAO One mouse pad, five tubs of wipes, one Gatorade, and a lollipop for DS. Kind of miscalculated a bit.

I just went from a Tracfone to a Clik and I have no idea what I'm doing either, I have managed to get the texting thing down (my friend said my response time was getting better laugh out loud) and I can use the camera and email but beyond that - droid and apps - forget it!
