I went to pick mine up yesterday, and the kid at the register said to me "did you do an online promo?" I said yes, I took care of everything online. I thought he was going to get my pizzas, but he disappeared and came back a few minutes later with the store manager.

She asked me what kind of promotion I was using. So I explained it to her. She said "oh, I was wondering how you did that". Geeze, I thought for a minute Papa wasn't coming home with me.
That happened to me as well. When I came to the store to pick it up, the cashier called the manager and they wouldn't give it to me if there was no proof Mad Good thing I had the peelie with me. Then they gave me that "we are not a participating store but would give it me just this once" line. Well, we have another PJ also 10mins away so no problem with me on that one Wink

In my experience, PJ never knows about their own promos. We bought a gift card sheet as part of a school fundraiser. It's stamped with their logo all over the place, has expiration sates, corporate address, everything. Call them to place an order and they have NO CLUE these cards exist. Confused

I told them that there is no list of participating stores or not and if it their store wasn't really participating, then why did the code go through online without any problem. The peelie says Papa John's and they are a Papa John's store. The manager agreed and let it go. Im hoping there won't be anymore problems next time Cool

Be careful Target shoppers, apparently taking peelies off items and not using them in that trip is theft of merchandise and is prosectuable.

I was approached by a team member as I was leaving the store after checkout, and was told that a team member in the store observed me take a coupon off an item. I asked if this 'theft of merchandise' was a corporate policy, and was told that it was. I was also requested to return the coupons. I handed them back, but I don't know what was more embarassing, being accused of stealing or that it was stealing coupons!

I disagree that it could be theft of merchandise when the coupon belongs to the manufacturer and is issued by the manufacturer and that the coupon has 'no cash value'.
There was no "theft" since no service was rendered nor was any merchandise taken. Being the b***h that I am I would have asked to have an officer present and explain the "law" to me. Under Pa law theft of services can only apply when there is compensation lost for the "crime". Ex. Stealing cable from your neighbors is theft of service. They pay you don't. Coupons are worthless unless redeemed.

Dazzled, thanks so much for the RA help. I was able to get 2 prs of sunglasses, some Aveeno and I found tons of the clearanced Huggies, which DD will be so happy to hear. Thing I didn't like though was the manger came over as soon as he saw coupons and started rooting through my bags making sure I bought the items. I only had a few things so it didn't take long but he just stood there, hovering over the cashier until she was done ringing me up. I don't think I could get too used to that.

Second stop was Target where I found Visas Whee Also found a dyson for 50% off. But I think it was a display unit, not regular markdown.
Since I've started going to RA again, I've visited two stores. The first store, the cashiers have been very nice, very helpful, even though they are cashiers that I wouldn't even give a second glance at T, kwim? But they have been great at RA. The second store, the cashier, who IS one I would have profiled as "acceptable" at T or elsewhere, practically pulled out a magnifying glass, he was reading every Q that closely. No big deal, because my coupons were all correct, unexpired, etc., but it was frustrating and took so much longer than it needed to. And then the UP rewards didn't print on my Old Spice deodorant, and so he called the manager over, who knew even less about the promo than the cashier did. Doh This manager had NO CLUE whatsoever about +UP, wellness, nothing. Unbelievable. Somehow, he returned, rebought, and I ended up $5.25 richer. I have no idea how, and he could not explain it. Whatev.

Anyway, all that to say that the likelihood of them looking closer at your items/coupons than other stores is very high, simply because the volume of shoppers is so much lower. But the deals, from what I can tell, far outweigh that. Big Grin

Quote from bblueskye :
We've got quite a few RA stores here and I considered trying RA a while back. I put together a deal and went into the store. Holy nazi cashiers batman! They gave me such a hard time. I figured it might be just that store so I tried a few other ones. They all had next to zero stuff in stock and the cashiers were all just plain nasty. After that try, I decided I'd stick to Wags and CVS for my DS adventures.
I gave up on our CVS stores, because it seemed they were all coupon haters, and belligerent about it. And the two Wags that I have are in two different towns, miles away from each other, and very inconsistent with stock, so it just wasn't worth my time and gas, despite the awesome deals, to devote time to them. Rite Aid, on the other hand, is right across the street. Wink And two more are less than 10 miles away.

Gonna look through my inserts for tomorrow and then head for bed. Made $412 today at my yard sale. bounce Signed up for a flea market for next Saturday, so I better get shopping to stock back up!!!!

Hey, I'll only charge anyone $100 if ya'll are interested in being a "certified couponer" for me. I imagine Jaime's a certifiable couponer by now.... yep right ready for the looney bin.LMAO

Educator Program

Becentsable is currently recruiting Educators across the country!

Whether you are already a frugal shopper, or want to learn the skills so you can share them with your family and friends, you may be the perfect candidate for a Becentsable Educator!

What is a Becentsable Educator:

*Becentsable Educators are certified Educators that facilitate workshops to teach shoppers how to save time and money every week.

*Workshops can be taught as fundraising events for organizations, community education or in-home parties.

*An independent consultant sets his/her own hours and the amount of time they want to spend teaching.

Types of Workshops:

In-home Workshops

*In-home workshop are the most popular workshops we have.

*A host is the person who is inviting you into their home.

*The host will invite his/her friends and family to the workshop to learn how to save money.

*The host can provide drinks or food if they like.

*You can also host your own workshop by inviting your friends and family to your house for a workshop.

Fundraisers

*A fundraiser is a workshop designed to help an organization raise money.

*Each Educator determines how much money they will donate to the organization. This needs to be determined when the workshop is scheduled.

*The organization will provide the location for the workshop.

Continued Education Courses

*Continued education courses are usually set up with the city or school district and are offered to the public.

*Workshop can be taught at libraries, schools or community centers.

*Many times the city or school will charge a registration fee that they keep.

How Does a Becentsable Educator Make Money:

Workshop Fees

*The workshop fee should be collected at the beginning of a workshop and paid to the Becentsable Educator. The suggested retail price for attending a workshop is $25.00.

Registration Fees

* Educators pay a registration fee for each workshop attendee. This allows the workshop attendee access to the members only website.

*Becentsablemember.net has all the lessons for attendees to review.

*Educators buy registrations for each workshop attendee after the workshop is completed.

*Registration fees are based on the Educators level in the company.

Registration Fee by Business Level

* Senior Director: $2.75 per attendee
* Director: $4.00 per attendee
* Senior Educator: $5.25 per attendee
* Educator: $6.50 per attendee

Host Incentives

* Educators thank and reward the workshop Host for their time and energy by giving them a small gift!

* Each Educator has the authority to choose their host incentive offers.

*BeCentsAble will provide a sample plan of host incentives.

Educator Commission

*Educators are to collect all workshop fees from attendees; the amount remaining after registration fees and host incentives is retained by the Educator as Workshop Commission.

Workshop Fees less Registration Fees less Host Incentives = Educator Commission

How Much Does it Cost and What Do I Get:

Fee: $250 - includes shipping

*Lifetime access to online training site

*Presentation DVD's for all current workshops

*Couponizer & Expanding File Folder (Value: $32.00)

*35 Free Workshop Registrations (Value: $227.50)

*Two help sessions with a certified trainer

PLEASE NOTE: Once you are activated as an Educator your fee is non-refundable.

Decided late last night that I would take the oldest to the local corner flea market this morning for our first try there...I am now $450 richer for a few hours in the nice morning temp and an hour being baked in the sun.

funny! and this wasn't the first time HE has thrown up in my car and I'm so sure it wont be the last time some does....DH and I have a deal = He does POOP and I do vomit...for some reason I can handle me kids puke but not anyone elses - or even my own
WHOOOO HOOO on the $450 --- may you have MANY MORE sales like that!!!!!

LOL about the barf vs poop ... I can handle barf much better than poop ... But I will take blood & bones over barf way less revolting! LOL

Congrats on a great day of selling Dia!!!

Made it to 2 Targets today and Rite Aid. I am tired. It is so freakin hot again. I swear this is NOT normal to be so hot so early. I hope it doesn't mean a bad storm season this year. I don't want to have to run from any hurricanes
DUUUUDE I wish that were me who sold the stuff - that was Dazzled.

Hey ... if hurricaine hits how fast will a Jedi scan your coupons???? WinkLOL I hope that you remain safe & that you get a break in the temps!!!

Quote from .teri. :
I'm done, I think I wrote a book over there altogether .... I know how stressful it can be when we all argue amongst ourselves here. I can't imagine having SD and AFC after me all at once
I didn't see any of your pearls of wisdom but I am betting they were good advice ... LOL it is probably a little like the last wedding dress in a room full of bridezilla's.

Quote from .teri. :
What do you think about Costner's machines? Do you think they will work? I am hoping so bad that they will .
I dunno --- I am hoping! On Fox tonight they had some chap demonstrating something that looked like miracle grow that is supposedly 'all natural' and 'animal/environment friendly' absorbing oil and NOT sticking to bird feathers. Looked weird ... then he demonstrated that it could be scooped out with huge scoops after it had soaked up the oil .... who knows .....

I thought almost all T stores were going to get the Visas???
Nope none here.

Quote from .teri. :

Hmmm - that is wierd. When you order online you can pay for it with a CC and then pick it up in order to avoid delivery costs ... how would they know how you paid for it?

Quote from melb2 :

Hmmm - mental note hang on to peelie if ordering pizza.

Ok - I have no idea how the law treats peelies ... but that really surprises me. My understanding is that the store can not detain you or search you unless they have your entire shopping trip 100% on tape and can prove whatever they are saying beyond the shadow of a doubt. I was told this by a couple of the employees who work with security at one of the stores --- their mission to stop shoplifters. They were explaining it was more of a prob them people realized. I didn't think that there was much of it --- I never see it -- I was told I wouldn't. Of course, we were not talking about peelies we were talking about actual merchandise.

I am sorry that you were so embarrassed! I will definitely keep this in mind of I find them.

Quote from tots05 :
That happened to me as well. When I came to the store to pick it up, the cashier called the manager and they wouldn't give it to me if there was no proof Good thing I had the peelie with me. Then they gave me that "we are not a participating store but would give it me just this once" line. Well, we have another PJ also 10mins away so no problem with me on that one Wink
That is weird though --- again you could have paid online - I have done that ... ordered a pizza and paid online and then gone to pick it up and no one has ever asked how I paid. Glad you have other options -

Had a very nice little run tonight. Love that 2/3 stores in town have the visas now.

Thanks for whomever posted about the benadryl sticks (I think it was m2c) but they totally worked for the bag deal. I think I remember someone posting that the $5/2 cpns only took off $2.44 and they definitely did...I like that there were no beeps at all. I had 6 sticks and 3 $5/2 cpns. When my cashier saw that each one scanned for only $2.44 he scanned each one twice. No beeps then either and I got $2.44 x 6, exactly as the coupon intended to work. Love that! Smilie
So are these q's autoadjusting because they are 992's? Does anyone have an example of one that auto's and is not a 992?

I totally hear ya on the shoplifting thing. DD said that after a certain time at night the AP staff are are gone home and if someone comes in and shoplifts during that time nothing can be done to them because only AP can detain a person. So if they leave at 8 and someone comes in at 8:20 and picks up a camera and walks out with it, there is nothing they can do.

I just found this to be Crazy
