Also saw a gift card deal for Loreal hair dye. Not sure of the details on that one, though.

I'm right there with the rest of you. Some of the very same ones who are more than thrilled to take (usually for free) from my stockpiles are the ones talking behind my back about how "out of control" I am. Shoot they will even say it to my face, trying to talk me out of couponing. Using arguments like "how is it saving if you are spending on things you don't need?" they just don't get the whole concept of "less than free".
Actually the one that bugs me the most is my father, we're not on the best of terms to begin with and on the rare occasions we do talk he always finds a way to bring up my couponing. He is a psych counselor and former law enforcement officer, so he runs the gambit of accusing me of committing some sort of fraud with coupons (After all, don't I know it can't possibly be legal to walk out of a store with items for free or less than free?) then he goes into the whole mental side of it claiming I have a problem that if not "treated" will ultimately be the undoing of my marriage.
Anniversary Gift
Can I borrow him? Please Please, I promise to give him a thorough bath before I return him nice and clean as new.
Flying under Radar (calling District)
I go back and forth on this on nearly a daily basis. Overall, I tend to do my best to "fly under the radar" in my own way, but sometimes I have to wonder if that is a mistake.
I wonder if all our flying under the radar tactics do a disservice to ourselves in that by not standing our ground even if it means calling district just means that same clerk/manager will be just as ignorant and difficult the next time. OK so calling them out might not help either but letting it go definitely won't help.
But in the end I'm a wuss and rarely do more than calmly and clearly state the facts then when they won't back down take my shopping to the next store either by canceling the whole order or by purchasing it without the q's then taking it to a more reasonable store to do a missed Q refund at CS.

And one more thing that gets my goat is when I hear someone has been talking behind my back like they are doing me (or my husband) a FAVOR by taking some of my stockpile off my hands, so as to "help" me de-clutter a bit.
Happy Anniversary!

Ultimately, I like having decent relationships with the employees there but I like being able to go in, get what I need, and get out without hassle too.
I usually only buy about a max. of 4 like items when I go in (unless it's a GC deal or something that you have to buy more.) I figure that I'm less likely to be targeted for the 'family limit' thing. I'd rather go back multiple times in the week and let everyone else have a chance. I have the luxury of not living far away, that isn't the case for everyone

I'm in a large metro area so I can do multiple trips different stores as well but I am a bit limited on time with my job and family so I do occasionally push the envelope a bit on the quantities assuming there is enough stock for me not to be wiping them out.
For example two nights ago I checked the scanners and found they had around 90 of the single Bounty rolls and the store was pretty slow so I filled my cart and purchased 40 of them in one shot without problem.
Weight- I'm a chubby person myself so that's why the analogy came to mind so quickly. I shush my kids from making insensitive remarks and it bothers me when adults think they can say whatever comes to mind.
Shopping addiction- I KNOW I have one. My older kids used to be dressed head to toe in Gymboree or Gap, I absolutely had to resell on eBay to roll the money into the new season's wardrobe. Being able to feed my shopping addiction with coupon usage is better for the wallet.

I don't think it is the place of anyone outside my immediate family (ie dh or the kids) to comment on what I should do with my stockpile, or the stuff I have stored in my basement. There are things I have moved for 15 years of military moves because I want to pass them down to my kids, for example. Or the bin of clothing I bought for our daughter that never came home with us. That's MY business. My rule of thumb is, if the living room or kitchen start to resemble something that might possibly be seen on an episode of Cops, it's time to clean.
ella, I'm sorry.
It costs a little bit less here for housing than it does where flugette lives, even though we aren't that far from each other, but the county still made the Forbes list in 2009 of highest income counties in America. Because that's what it takes to live near DC- look at how many DC suburbs (and NY suburbs) are on this list:

Sadly even with both of us working, college degrees for both of us (Masters for me), and only one child our personal household per-capita is still well under our county's average. Coupons sometimes feel like the only thing keeping us from falling over the edge.
Now I better get my arse to bed so I can be up in 5-1/2 hrs for work.

rafael, I personally would call the store and ask to talk to the manager directly for policy clarification. First, it eliminates the possibility that it was just the trainer and/or cashier making up the bs on the spot. Second, gives the manager the chance to straighten out the staff before corp contacts them. And I've had that happen a few times recently that the cashier challenged me about a coupon before they even scanned the coupon. I happily wave the product in their face and ask them to re-read the coupon.
Sadly it is pretty much lose/lose if you don't call that just allows them to continue to believe they are right and give them no incentive to learn and change and possibly single you out as someone to "watch" in the future since they thought they "let you" get away with something. Then again if you call it is also possible they might to resent you and be less than courteous in the future for stirring things up with corporate.
Now I'm going to bed, I swear. But first I need to take one last look at that Anniversary Present.
Sweet Dreams All!!
TIA
Anyone know if the section of the driveway that connects the road to the sidewalk is public property? I think it is, but I don't know what it's called. A swale? Easement?

Freudian slip?
Today was my day to find kick-ass EXPIRED tearpads.
wow long posts in here last night. My thoughts, again, on calling corp. It would have to be something very very very major for me to do it. When I compare all the great runs I've had over the years to the bad ones, the good ones FAR outweigh the bad ones so it's to my advantage to let the bad ones go. Was it 2 years ago now that all the targets had photos of the fraudulent q's posted at each register? Trying to get them to take an IP was almost impossible then, but that blew over pretty quickly IIRC.
I have one store in my area that the manager really started cracking down on the one tq per transaction this past year. One day I was in line to check out and when I pulled out my q's, he came over and told the cashier he would take over. He spread all my coupons out and one by one started saying 'we can only accept one of this, and this. I just let it go and took the loss. Waited awhile to go back to that store and when I went back, no problems. The great thing about T is that they have a high employee turnover
The talk of Starbucks GC's makes me wish another good q would come out. It's been so hot here that I would love a good q to use on the bottled fraps so I could have some nice cold coffee.
Since no one has talked poop I'm adding in the mandatory poop talk. I'm up very early this morning as I have a sick yorkie who alerted me at 5 am that she had to go out. Unfortunately, she didn't make it . Nothing like waking up to that
