Not sure if you guys saw my post in deals, but saw signs for a gift card deal on Keurig K-Cups. Buy 3 boxes, get a $5 gift card. Not fantastic, but I did find some current $2/2 coupons on ebay, which makes it a little better.

Also saw a gift card deal for Loreal hair dye. Not sure of the details on that one, though.

I'm no good with the whole multi-quote...

Stockpiling Comments from Friends & Relatives
I'm right there with the rest of you. Some of the very same ones who are more than thrilled to take (usually for free) from my stockpiles are the ones talking behind my back about how "out of control" I am. Shoot they will even say it to my face, trying to talk me out of couponing. Using arguments like "how is it saving if you are spending on things you don't need?" they just don't get the whole concept of "less than free".

Actually the one that bugs me the most is my father, we're not on the best of terms to begin with and on the rare occasions we do talk he always finds a way to bring up my couponing. He is a psych counselor and former law enforcement officer, so he runs the gambit of accusing me of committing some sort of fraud with coupons (After all, don't I know it can't possibly be legal to walk out of a store with items for free or less than free?) then he goes into the whole mental side of it claiming I have a problem that if not "treated" will ultimately be the undoing of my marriage.

Anniversary Gift
Can I borrow him? Please Please, I promise to give him a thorough bath before I return him nice and clean as new.

Flying under Radar (calling District)
I go back and forth on this on nearly a daily basis. Overall, I tend to do my best to "fly under the radar" in my own way, but sometimes I have to wonder if that is a mistake.

I wonder if all our flying under the radar tactics do a disservice to ourselves in that by not standing our ground even if it means calling district just means that same clerk/manager will be just as ignorant and difficult the next time. OK so calling them out might not help either but letting it go definitely won't help.

But in the end I'm a wuss and rarely do more than calmly and clearly state the facts then when they won't back down take my shopping to the next store either by canceling the whole order or by purchasing it without the q's then taking it to a more reasonable store to do a missed Q refund at CS.

Grocery store comments on weight
TN_Native hug I know how you feel. Comfort

Stockpiling Comments from Friends & Relatives - Revisited
And one more thing that gets my goat is when I hear someone has been talking behind my back like they are doing me (or my husband) a FAVOR by taking some of my stockpile off my hands, so as to "help" me de-clutter a bit. Censored

Feeling a little blue today. Frown I met with my endocrinologist today, and she said I should wait a year to try to conceive rather than the six months I was told. I initially asked her if I could postpone getting radiation, get pregnant, and then get it. I have/had cancer that already spread to the lymph nodes, and was told that 2 out of 3 people in a case like mines gets it again. So I reluctantly agreed to have the radiation (4 months ago) because she said I could try to get pregnant by August, now she is telling me next February. I'm an only child, so I have this irrational fear of my daughter being one as well. She turns two tomorrow. I guess I just don't want her to have the same miserably lonely childhood as I had... walked home alone from school since the 4th grade. I would stay home alone, all weekend, all afternoons, my parents were immigrants who worked any job they could find because we were poor, so neither were ever home. I was (still am) very much loved by my parents, I wasn't abandoned or anything... just always left home alone *all the time* LOL. *sigh* I guess if this is the worse of my problems I should consider myself lucky, just a bit bummed about being told something different...

I kinda go back and forth on this too.....I try to think of the bigger picture when possible. For instance, back when I started couponing my primary store was horrible. They just didn't know their stuff - the first call I had to make to corp. was the whole definition of purchase/transaction thing. This, I was not letting go....because it would make a HUGE difference on every trip I made and they were dead wrong. Within two weeks I had to call corp. 3 times for very, very basic issues like this. I've never had to call them since. Maybe my picture is in their break room or something: "when this lady comes through the line just don't mess with her!" LMAO I dunno. Ever since the whole 1 TQ per transaction thing came out I always ask the cashier if they would like me to ring my items up separately or altogether. I've found that politeness/acknowledgment of their rules and picking your battles can go a long way.

Ultimately, I like having decent relationships with the employees there but I like being able to go in, get what I need, and get out without hassle too.

I usually only buy about a max. of 4 like items when I go in (unless it's a GC deal or something that you have to buy more.) I figure that I'm less likely to be targeted for the 'family limit' thing. I'd rather go back multiple times in the week and let everyone else have a chance. I have the luxury of not living far away, that isn't the case for everyoneSmilie

I do basically the same with the 1 TQ wording as well. In a very friendly voice I mention I have several Q's and would by happy to split them into smaller orders if they prefer. OK so I don't go out of my way to mention that the T Q states 1 per when I ask this after all it is their store Q. Usually if I ask this first they have no problem taking more even if/when they notice the wording.

I'm in a large metro area so I can do multiple trips different stores as well but I am a bit limited on time with my job and family so I do occasionally push the envelope a bit on the quantities assuming there is enough stock for me not to be wiping them out.

For example two nights ago I checked the scanners and found they had around 90 of the single Bounty rolls and the store was pretty slow so I filled my cart and purchased 40 of them in one shot without problem.

On calling corporate- I try to keep my complaints to a minimum, it really takes a lot for me to call. Or running into a very obviously wrong person. I had a GSTL once argue with me for 10 minutes that she worked there so she knew the policies better than I did. And she was wrong.

Weight- I'm a chubby person myself so that's why the analogy came to mind so quickly. I shush my kids from making insensitive remarks and it bothers me when adults think they can say whatever comes to mind.

Shopping addiction- I KNOW I have one. My older kids used to be dressed head to toe in Gymboree or Gap, I absolutely had to resell on eBay to roll the money into the new season's wardrobe. Being able to feed my shopping addiction with coupon usage is better for the wallet. laugh out loud As others wrote, I coupon to be able to stay home with the kids, to be able to afford some of the little luxuries that we couldn't have otherwise. It costs a little bit less here for housing than it does where flugette lives, even though we aren't that far from each other, but the county still made the Forbes list in 2009 of highest income counties in America. Because that's what it takes to live near DC- look at how many DC suburbs (and NY suburbs) are on this list:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High...ted_States

I don't think it is the place of anyone outside my immediate family (ie dh or the kids) to comment on what I should do with my stockpile, or the stuff I have stored in my basement. There are things I have moved for 15 years of military moves because I want to pass them down to my kids, for example. Or the bin of clothing I bought for our daughter that never came home with us. That's MY business. My rule of thumb is, if the living room or kitchen start to resemble something that might possibly be seen on an episode of Cops, it's time to clean. LMAO Other than that, eh, cleaning while kids are young is like shoveling snow during a blizzard.

ella, I'm sorry. hug

Today I was told that Target is no longer taking "copied" coupons. This trainer was reffering to IP's. I wrote her name and the cashiers name down. Do I call corp? LOD said to "push them through." I think they told him the coupons beeped INF but they didn't even try scanning them. THIS was BS my sister was a lane over and she got through no problems with the SAME deal. This cashier didn't have a "so happy face."

Interesting Link - Kansas nor any other state in the Midwest even made the top 25 list but I am in the highest per capita county for our state. If you transplanted my county to Virginia it would have ranked 7th, 4th in New York and 1st in Delaware.

Sadly even with both of us working, college degrees for both of us (Masters for me), and only one child our personal household per-capita is still well under our county's average. Coupons sometimes feel like the only thing keeping us from falling over the edge.

Now I better get my arse to bed so I can be up in 5-1/2 hrs for work.

I was surprised that there weren't MORE California counties on that list. nod

rafael, I personally would call the store and ask to talk to the manager directly for policy clarification. First, it eliminates the possibility that it was just the trainer and/or cashier making up the bs on the spot. Second, gives the manager the chance to straighten out the staff before corp contacts them. And I've had that happen a few times recently that the cashier challenged me about a coupon before they even scanned the coupon. I happily wave the product in their face and ask them to re-read the coupon.

This is exactly why I go back and forth. Same thing happens to me from time to time at some of the stores I go to less frequently, or with certain LOD's. My first instinct is to tell you to call and complain to corporate in the hopes for better coupon policy enforcement in the future but the honest truth is I usually end up just trying to avoid that particular store or the time of day that LOD is on duty.

Sadly it is pretty much lose/lose if you don't call that just allows them to continue to believe they are right and give them no incentive to learn and change and possibly single you out as someone to "watch" in the future since they thought they "let you" get away with something. Then again if you call it is also possible they might to resent you and be less than courteous in the future for stirring things up with corporate.

Now I'm going to bed, I swear. But first I need to take one last look at that Anniversary Present. Drool

If you have the 24 pack codes (it's not a flap, it's a cutout from inside the box) those are worth 20 points. Bu you get an extra 10 points this month (because of World Cup)!!! Whee

Anyone know if the section of the driveway that connects the road to the sidewalk is public property? I think it is, but I don't know what it's called. A swale? Easement?

wow long posts in here last night. My thoughts, again, on calling corp. It would have to be something very very very major for me to do it. When I compare all the great runs I've had over the years to the bad ones, the good ones FAR outweigh the bad ones so it's to my advantage to let the bad ones go. Was it 2 years ago now that all the targets had photos of the fraudulent q's posted at each register? Trying to get them to take an IP was almost impossible then, but that blew over pretty quickly IIRC.

I have one store in my area that the manager really started cracking down on the one tq per transaction this past year. One day I was in line to check out and when I pulled out my q's, he came over and told the cashier he would take over. He spread all my coupons out and one by one started saying 'we can only accept one of this, and this. I just let it go and took the loss. Waited awhile to go back to that store and when I went back, no problems. The great thing about T is that they have a high employee turnover Smilie

The talk of Starbucks GC's makes me wish another good q would come out. It's been so hot here that I would love a good q to use on the bottled fraps so I could have some nice cold coffee.

Since no one has talked poop I'm adding in the mandatory poop talk. I'm up very early this morning as I have a sick yorkie who alerted me at 5 am that she had to go out. Unfortunately, she didn't make it . Nothing like waking up to that Sick
