True - but I'd rather have the print magazine much easier for me to read.

Note - Effective with the May/June 2025 issue, Consumer Reports Magazine is moving to a bi-monthly publication.

Up until a few months ago, I had been using Discount Mags for years. Most recently, I purchased a hard copy subscription from Discount Mags. Instead of receiving hard copy, I received nothing. I contacted DM, and here is their response: " As a valued subscriber, we're excited to announce that we're upgrading your subscription to a digital one". Upgrade? WTH? Digital access was 25% of the hard copy subscription cost. Goodbye Discount Mags.

I did contact the actual magazine and explained my lack of hard copy due to DM. They said not uncommon with DM, and reinitiated my full hard copy subscription + digital.

Canceled my subscription when they did a front page review of pillows and didn't include My Pillow. They said they didn't have room. I think they didn't like the CEO's politics.
My pillow is a garbage product to begin with, a $5 walmart pillow would be better and last longer
Costco also sells tempurpedic pillows for $20, can't beat that

Don't like automatic renewal.
yep, no longer subscribe to Magazines because of that. with the Internet info and auto Renewal, magazines have shot themselves in the foot.
don't care if i can cancel, don't wanna mess around with something that should be simple; magazines were simple, but no more.

oh well: good bye.

glad it worked out for you. i no longer trust magazines anymore, many people are dropping them. they need to figure out we don't like to play games with them.
not gonna wait for that to happen though.

Wanted to check reviews for 2024, 2025 VW Jetta before I make a purchase.
Most important info were locked behind a paywall. Once paid for subscription and logged in, they have no data for VW Jetta but yet the audacity to provide ratings 😂.
In the April Auto issue they have a brief synopsis on the 2025 Jetta, the same as they do with all other 2025 models. Don't know if they've done a full review recently but they only do full reviews on a limited number of cars every year.
In the reliability section it has info listed on 2017 & 2019 Jettas but not for newer years, probably due to a lack of responses for the newer years in their Annual Reliability poll.
Maybe they didn't sell to many Jettas in recent years.
Maybe try to find a Jetta owners forum or message board online if one exists. These forums can be a good source of info for the good points and problem areas of vehicles.

Fantastic! Rare to get a discount on Consumer Reports. Even if the digital version can be accessed free through libraries, I like supporting them through a subscription as they do not accept any advertising or review money to ensure no bias creeps into their evaluations.

Note: CR is switching to 6-issues per year.
That's very disappointing and makes the price a lot less appealing. I've been a subscriber for many years, have noticed the issues getting progressively thinner, and now there will only be six of them annually? It's a pass for me.

I agree he's a clown. I also doubt you have any real idea if the product is good or bad.

I think the following is still active for $12 for a year for the print version. Auto-subscribe too, but can cancel online.

The Discount Mags listing clearly states you're buying 26 Print Issues ... So they have to honor that or else it's bait-n-switch.

CR can cheap out and switch to an issue every two months all they want (reducing from monthly issues is the first step to a publication going under..but we'll see) However they owe you 26 physical issues and whether that takes 2 years, 4 years, or however long then so be it, but if they try to claim something else then yeah..

That's an interesting point and is making me reconsider, but I'm not convinced it's as simple as you make it out to be. Yes, it says 26 print issues, but it also says a 2-year subscription. How do you know that the "26 issues" part takes precedence over it being a "2-year subscription" in the (apparently already predetermined) event that they switch to 6 issues per year?
