Same ole deal as last few years. The problem is the shrinkage from two 4ah batteries included to a 2ah + 4ah battery.

Also Greenworks mowers all use plastic gears from the lowend to the very highest end mowers with no available replacements if broken. This seems like a step backwards for parts made to exert torque.

Also if you try to claim warranty for mowers they make you pay shipping back to their factories. You can just return to costco here but the same mower from greenworks costs $399 or less when on sale so you are paying for that privilege anyways.

It's still a "good deal", but not as good as 2 years ago. Life moves fast though and there's many deals ike that in life now. I'm amazed my original PS5 costs less than now a digital sim version and the biggest difference is....just the size....

4ah + 2ah... bleh. 2ah were given out like candy last year. Used to 4ah + 4ah from Costco at this price, so this is a downer.

Is there some sort of better battery or machine that the lawnmower may be using that do not require the 2nd 4ah? More efficient?

Not that I know of. Difference between Gen 2 and Gen 1 on battery life doesn't seem to be materially different.

This is just a cost cutting measure to keep the price the same over the years, by giving you less than before. Number of items in the box are the same, but different battery sizes. A normal consumer probably wouldn't know there is a difference.

So minus a time travel machine, is this still a good deal for what it comes with?

Definetely. The reviews on YouTube are generally excellent.

Picking one up today to replace my old Honda gas mower. It will be very nice not to have to deal with gasoline and oil changes anymore. Plus it will take up less space in my garage since it can be stored vertically.

If you find an EGO for say ~$200+ than this, would you still get GW or EGO?

Definitely still the GW.

Take a look at this video review, includes EGO, GW, Milwaukee and others.

My 60v is still going strong with the 4ah battery.

So do electric mowers in a similar price range from other companies (Ego, Makita, etc.) have non-plastic gears?
