No local dimming.
It helps display deeper black color in the dark area by dimming backlit leds individually. minimizing washed out black color effect. More dimming zone the better. Full array < miniLED < Oled(pixel lit).

I think this tv has decent contrast for the price though. I recommend taking a look at Rtings reviews if you are in the market for tv.
Why didn't you just plug in a Roku?

rtings says this has a poor viewing angle but their reviews seem to say that about most TVs unless you're in the $2000+ range. Can anyone who has this TV give any feedback? My couch is within 25 degrees so 80% of the seats will be fine. But is it just horrible if you're at 45 degrees?
Because it's lcd and they all have junk viewing angles. Get QLED then viewing angle is untouched.

I'm done giving this community good advice. Y'all are jerks. Good luck.
Because one person said you should have just plugged in a Roku box? I didn't see anyone else being disrespectful to you at all.

Interesting no one here has brought up the higher end Sony TV Walmart also sells at a discount: The X93L(not allowing posting URL here)

Even at almost double the price, I would go for the X93L, it it Mini LED TV with local dimming.

I have a 65 inch x85 from a previous Slickdeal - very pleased. I'd also echo a previous poster that I really like the Google TV interface and even have looked for this in other TVs since. I have a Roku TV and I prefer the Google version, but I'm sure some will disagree as we've already seen here.

Ordered one and it arrived this morning with a broken screen. Don't underestimate Walmart's horrible carrier.

this is an OK tv. ended up getting it due to some warranty issues on another tv with sony. i'm actually on my second one, as the first one i received had a dead pixel in the lower middle and I didn't get the TV replaced until 2 weeks were left on the warranty. However, if you asked me if i would ever buy another sony tv, i would say no. literally just had to fix an xbr-65x930d last week, which has already gone through two warranty repairs.

1st time: some board was replaced by sony
2nd time: they sent me a new brick PSU

repair last week? had to replace an IC regulator chip which apparently regularly goes out (so I ended up buying 4 of them at $1 each for when the inevitable happens)

Sony had a reputation for being good...but at least for me, that reputation has been thrown right out the window.
