I used to love Nike therma products, but they did something to the quality a few years back now.

Thinner and stretchier (not in a good way) material.

My older ones compared to newer ones have a stark difference.

Noticed this too. They still sell the good ones in the Nike retail stores. I think they're giving the lower quality ones to other retailers to sell at discounts.

I've only ever bought them from their retail stores. The quality has definitely dropped on these.

No. But maybe you did not experience the quality these had from over 5 years ago. All my good ones are from then and before. Anything purchased more recently is thinner, stretchier, and the proportions are way out of whack. I am 6'4" and buy size large and the legs of the newer pants are waaaaay too long even for me, which makes no sense.

I agree with this, they must have several different tier quality lately.

Hello fellow tall person (I'm 6'4" too Big Grin) Nike has moved a lot of their stuff over to that new high-tech stretch fiber and started cutting their clothes to athletic cuts (tight waist, more bulky chest). Personally it fits me, but I can see where others may not like it. They do still sell classic cut sweats, but like I said you only usually find those at their main retail stores.

Yeah, them moving it to the new "high-tech stretch fiber" was likely just a cost cutting thing for them. The material is demonstrably worse than it used to be. Thinner is my biggest gripe. It is far less insulating than the older version. And like I said size large should not be way too long for my legs given I am in something like the 99th percentile for height, which is why I said it makes no sense. And the extra stretchiness I don't care about one way or another, the older version was plenty stretchy. Overall just a decline in quality. It really does not have anything to do with the "cut", as the rest of the fit is fine, it is just the unnecessary length on the sweat pants that aren't jogger style.

I am wearing a pair of older ones right now. They still look brand new even though they must be nearing 10 years old now or close to it.
