Charging initially full tax up front is fine. But what Apple does is refund the payment method plus also refund tax when they process the trade in. The Google store never refund tax after they process trade in.
Going back to the store I can price out second 9a as following:
9a $499
Tax $33
Store Credit applied -$100
Total $432
-$200 trade in value for 7a
Total after trade-in $232
you will get $100 store credit after purchase
So, second $100 store credit and good value for 7a
The only question is whether I should wait for pixel 10 release for better pricing for 9/pro
PS I checked trade in value of 7a for Pixel9 and its only $125. I may just pull the trigger on another 9a. We've always been an A family
