You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

Please disregard. I see that I can send the code to my Google voice number even though that is not the number I will be posting.

anyone know how to fix?
who ever posted the TW iphone 13 promotion and that could be unlocked after 30 days, posting back in slickdeals was misleading. I purchased a TW sim kit and the terms and conditions of service, effective 7/10/2024 in version 202407. The document shows that Total wireless company already changed their unlock policy since last year in 2024 July.
I purchase 3 iphones. and 2 of them for used 1 month of service. In order to sign up for another 30 days of service (total of 60 days to be unlocked) I was told from TW call center that I need NEW SIM card because the old one already expired that came with the phone.
Even I have NEW sim ($5 each), I cannot sign up or activate the service on my own online acct because the IPHONE still locked status. I spent hours and hours on the call and talk to different representatives and transfer to different level of support team. I am finally reactivated 2 phone line today with NEW phone number. $25 for 30 day plan (1G data, unlimited talk). My experience from TW call center, not too much of knowledgeable representatives, and so much of inexperience staff who dont know what they are doing on the calls.

1st iphone purchased back in Feb 18 2025, activated from March 02 2025, it still locked on 5/5/2025, re-activated the serviced just now
2nd iphone purchased in March 2, activated in March 15, NO go in unlock. re-activated for additional 30 day just now.
3rd iphone in a 2nd months of service, will find out in June when reach 60 days.
My first order was last week, shipped same day, received in 2 days.
My 2nd phone order placed 12:17pm today, and shipped same day at 8:50pm.
During the process, when I was trying to select the plan, it fails and ask me to call customer support and unable to add the plan to cart.
However, I found out that the issue was due to the phone number I entered for text code verification. I changed the phone number to GV numbed, and received a verification code in GV, then the whole thing goes smooth, added to cart and checked out successfully. It didn't asked me to verify ID on the second purchase as it actually recorded in my account through ky first phone purchased

Hi,
Have they unlocked the iPhone that you activated on March 2? Thanks.
Google Voice $3
1. If I take out SIM and use in another phone of mine, does it affect unlocking? Would total wireless monitor or restrict the SIM must be used with iphone to be considered as "active service"
2. I will leave USA to another country on 05/22, where there is no roaming. Does it affect automatic unlocking after 60 days of paid service? Or, I must request unlocking when after 60 days (aka after 07/01) ?
