You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

Any joy using number barn?
Not during, but I had a great sandwich after, which got me going.

Deal clearly says a number must be ported - it's right in the information at beginning of thread as well as the title.

Simple answer is you can't. More complex answer probably won't help someone that didn't understand they needed a port-in as stated in the title. Frown
(though you could just try looking it up yourself. eg. https://www.lifewire.com/obtain-p...es-3426655 )

Wow, what a world we live in....where we need to verify our identity to a third party (who resells our ID info) just to buy something.

Back in my day, we only needed money to buy something.

Sad thing is people are chomping at the bit to do it. 🤦

You don't have to do it.
Just pay the regular price.
Our entire society is based on making money not providing you with free things.
Pay in cash or pay in some other way that someone else can make cash from.

I can assure you that the only way this deal works is if folks are validated. If not then people buy dozens to resell which they definitely should do if allowed to. Buy low sell high.

Received the phone with the physical SIM, but having trouble activating. The website doesn't asks for a "PIN" but there was none provided. Can't get thru the support line. How were you guys able to get it activated?

The support line is terrible and I am dealing with it currently. They are not able to activate my line. I chatted with them for 2.5hrs last night and no use.

I ported GV number yesterday evening. Outgoing calls started to work instantly but no incoming (even today morning). Is it just the porting period being long for a "landline" type number? Or is it time to contact their support (which I understand is not so great)?

Quick question. I do not see IMEI listed in the 'Manage Lines' for the iphone 13. It is shipped and to be delivered day after tomorrow. But for other phones (android) the IMEI showed up in the list for online porting process even before the order was shipped. Not sure what's up with iphone IMEI listing. The number I am trying to port expires tomorrow (current service plan), but the iphone 13 will be delivered day after tomorrow. I am wondering how to handle this situation as my service ends tomorrow with current provider and need to activate and port day after tomorrow! Please share your experience. Thanks
did you find a solution? I'm not in your same situation but I want to know the IMEI of the phone to be delivered before it arrives, thank you

This means total-wireless didn't authorize your porting yet. You need to contact customer service. I went through the same with GV number and there is a zipcode issue and totalwireless is unable to process it. Eventually I used textnow number and even that takes 2days for the porting to complete. Good luck, totalwireless customer service is terrible.

Actually it got completed on its own earlier today. I just gave it some time as I was confident in the data I had entered, thanks to helpful SD commenters.
