You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

"Port-in of an existing phone number and ID verification is required"
(though you could just try looking it up yourself. eg. https://www.lifewire.co
Back in my day, we only needed money to buy something.
Sad thing is people are chomping at the bit to do it. 🤦
Just pay the regular price.
Our entire society is based on making money not providing you with free things.
Pay in cash or pay in some other way that someone else can make cash from.
I can assure you that the only way this deal works is if folks are validated. If not then people buy dozens to resell which they definitely should do if allowed to. Buy low sell high.

The support line is terrible and I am dealing with it currently. They are not able to activate my line. I chatted with them for 2.5hrs last night and no use.
This means total-wireless didn't authorize your porting yet. You need to contact customer service. I went through the same with GV number and there is a zipcode issue and totalwireless is unable to process it. Eventually I used textnow number and even that takes 2days for the porting to complete. Good luck, totalwireless customer service is terrible.

Actually it got completed on its own earlier today. I just gave it some time as I was confident in the data I had entered, thanks to helpful SD commenters.
