You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

I did not see the option to port my number while activating the new phone, so I continued with a new number and the activation was successful. I see a 3-month plan on the account. Will the phone still unlock after 60 days? I sent a message to 611611 with the word "UNLOCK," but I only received a reply with a link to Tracfone's unlock policy.

Same here. Also activated with a new number, and text to 611611 replied with unlock policy. Hope it can be unlocked.

611611 stopped giving unlock date months ago, it's just the standard unlock policy now so basically useless.

I successfully ported my number from Spectrum, however, my iPhone cannot make and receive calls and texts.

I see the line in my TW account as "activated" in transaction history, and my data works though on my TW SIM card.

Since I'm only holding the phone for the 60-day unlock, I don't think I need to contact support to fix my call / text issue?

I've bought an iPhone 11 from TW in the past and it successfully unlocked when out of the country (in Canada). I think you just need to be connected to Wifi.

Plan is tied to psim and gets activated with phone. You'll have to contact support & see if they can activate esim with the psim plan (& if it will affect unlock). Might be safer to just use psim.
