You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

Is the 60 day unlock something that is sent to the phone or is it like an internal timer once you activate the phone?
If I need to I can keep the phone locally until the 60 days passes to confirm it is unlocked.
But it would be nice to send it by air immediately.

I got in on the Razr deal, but the pre-paid service on that won't end until Sept. Ideally I could buy a 2nd phone, keep in a drawer, then activate the 2nd phone in Sept ...basically as if I bought several months from now.
But not sure if that is how this works.
