You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

If you have 2 accounts on total wireless and if the original one is on auto pay, make sure you call and cancel your second line otherwise they will auto charge your additional line with full price.

I have this phone from another total offer. used it for a trip to Singapore. installed a tourist esim and voila. don't need it anymore now that my iphone 15pm is unlocked. I'll probably sell the 13 to someone looking to trade in for a 17. I bought a moto g stylus 2025 128 from a metro offer for $65 man android is pretty awesome it's so useful

I did a free trial with TextNow to lock my number and am going to reach out to them tomorrow to see if I can port.
