*****The usual disclaimer on this, the amp is trash and you only get a 2 year warranty so use a credit card that will get you to 3 years as your probably going to need it... the amps fail all the time on these. So bang for the buck as far as $$$ but your probably going to have to find an amp at some point when it fails or just junk it.

12" rpl sw vs this? Seems like this 18hz vs rpl 16hz but I'm guess im missing some other upgrades/differences?

Neither, the amps are junk, get a rp-1200 or save up and get a rp-1400 when on sale, you will thank me for it!

This is the sub that has amp failures. Surprised it's not recalled or just discontinued. Just check on reddit. Great price and really slick if it wasn't flawed or a ticking time bomb. Great specs but don't know if it will even last a year. I hear if you unplug it when not in use it will be fine?

I just put that out, the amps are garbage but you might get lucky and have one last but this fails all the time.... they knew what they were doing w/ the crap 2 year warranty on the amp!

Just bought an RP-1200 to replace my failed SPL-120. Fingers crossed, you are right, and the amp will be more durable. I liked the older sub.

your good, the amp is totally different and they know it will not fail so they give you a full 5 year warranty on these amps which are completely different then the others. So you should be good but like all electronics about 5% always can have issues but usually well before the 5 year warranty is up..

The plate amp in my 20 year old velodyne failed last year. I simply replaced the amp with a 1/4" aluminum plate and used an external amp. I would do the same here.

15's are huge and you need a good deal of space for them?
I wanted to replace an older, power-hungry 10" sub, so I just recently got a 10" (RSL 10E) because they're relatively compact. Decent 10" subs can still get down into sub 30hz, fwiw.

Pick this up and wait til the amp fails, put in a warranty claim and they don't have any amps in stock, ask for a full replacement, get a RP-1400 upgrade instead. Just went through this last month
