Note: thread originally said $170.99 if anyone noticed. I didn't realize the Target was showing my 5% Circle Card price in cart so has been updated to $179.99. Still an amazing deal btw.
I had these and ended up returning them. The design and material was slippery for me so it kept slipping out of my fingers when i take them out of the case.
Could just be a me problem but I wanted to share anyways.
These are great. I use mine everyday. I was about to returned them, but replaced the ear tips that fit in my ear better and now they don't slip at all. Anc and hearthru modes are decent, but the sound is very good. I would recommend a warranty
I had two separate pairs of 1000xm4 buds ruined after a Sony update. The first was completely bricked, and the second set won't charge over 70% now. People have reported similar issues on their other earbuds lines as well. I just can't justify giving these clowns any more money for buds. Headphones, maybe.

Best discrete ear buds I have used. They are black and smaller than anything else. They provide great sound experience and noise cancellation, 9/10 compared to Airpods.
See these on sale lately, are they coming out with the new model soon?
The XM5'S were a huge step backwards in sound cancelation compared to the previous XM4'S. The 5's let in a ton of ambiant sound and it's incredibly distracting when you want to use them at a low volume.
Sony screwed up the sound cancelation software so bad on these that you actually get better sound cancelation if you set them to ambiant pass through and then turn the pass through setting all the way down to 1 instead of just setting it to full sound cancelation.
I have a feeling that is why you are seeing them on sale a lot, I suspect they are getting returned a lot for a refund and people are buying something else.
The XM4'S had their own problems with batteries though. Sony released a software update that overcharged the batteries and they ended up having to RMA a ton of earbuds to replace batteries.

Idk if they fixed it since your experience but back to back yesterday these blew my XM4 out of the water in every single metric.

I ran through 4 different pairs, same issue. Disappointing coming from Sony.
These vs Pixel Buds Pro 2? I've got a pixel phone. I've been using the same pair of over-the-ear WH1000XM3s daily for over 7 years now, so I always thought Sony was top of the line. Surprised to read about the issues with the earbuds.
These are great earbuds! I purchased them about 6 weeks ago from a previous Slickdeals (they were $108 refurbished on eBay from Secondipity). They look and perform like new. Looks like they still have them for sale on eBay, but the price is up to $149. The refurbs come with a 2 year Allstate warranty. https://www.ebay.com/itm/27601502...media=COPY

If you contact Sony even after warranty there's a good chance they'll replace them. I did and was very pleasantly surprised. And I use them daily to this day and actually didn't update the replacements cause I had the same issue.
