This was a very fun game to play through. I beat it on the PS4 first and bought the Switch edition later on a sale from Best Buy. My only gripe with the Switch edition is it felt noticeably more sluggish when a lot of action was happening on the screen. It's been a while since I've played, but I remember it felt like that on both Docked and Handheld mode.

For $10, it's an awesome game for Castlevania/Metroidvania fans, but I did not finish the game on Switch because of the slowdown.

Enjoyed this game on PS5, but heard that it has performance issues on Switch. For $10, a really solid metroidvania style game with a good amount of replayability if you are also a completionist. I would snag this at $10 if I didn't already own it. Nice find OP!

I am hoping this gets a Switch 2 profile/patch. I got to the final boss and it was such a slideshow that I just… put it down.

I was originally a WiiU backer! That would have been so bad. They send out updates still from KS so I'll be hoping for it…

The Switch version had a lot of performance issues for quite a long time. I think most of that got patched out, but it's still lower resolution, textures, and performance on Switch compared to other platforms. Best systems to have it on are XSX or PC, PS5 or PS4 Pro, and Switch in that order. I have it on XSX and it plays very well in 4K.

I had this on the Switch since day 1, and yes, while the most recent patches have improved a lot (the starting area and dialog "portraits" come to mind), there is still really bad slowdowns, loading time, and input lag. I finished it on the PS4, and $10 is probably about right for newcomers, but I would recommend the superior Prince of Persia Lost Crown that's in the same price range instead. I didn't really care for the RotN story or characters and it really just makes me miss a good modern Castlevania.

Does it still run terribly on the Switch? I'm enjoying it much more on my Steam deck, but had to start my save file over.

Same here, but I recall them letting us change to Switch because it was taking so long, the Switch had come out already. Even on Switch, it was meh for a while but the patches helped. I would think it's much better by now.
