until you see the taxes and fees which you can expect to go up every single year...

For NY residents, the math would be as follow:

Phone taxes at 8.765 = $350.25/36 months or $9.73/mo

Telecom taxes and verizon fees = $12.26/mo/line x 4 = $49.04

Phone service = $120/mo

Total = $178.77/mo

First month = $178.77 + ($35 activation fee x4) = $318.77

I'm currently stuck in AT&T 36 month hell (20 months remaining). I signed up at costco kiosk where promised all these discounts, some of which have been removed and just got notification that if don't switch to direct bank payment, the bill is going to go up another $10 per line (I have 5 line).

I hate absolutely HATE att!

I'm put off going to another service with promised discounts which may be taken away.

Add about 40 a month on taxes. Plus for the $200 gift card, you will have to spend hours or days to get it even if you fully qualify. Just a warning. I regret signing up for verizon.
I got $300x 1 and $200 x 3 without any issue from the last promo. Came fairly quickly .
I also got some additional savings by using portals when ordering each line.
All in a good deal, but of course if it doesn't go right, involving Verizon CS I'm sure is a nightmare.

Key in these situations is to do all online and avoid human interactions where things get messed up (wrong promo codes entered, etc)

What an good "deal", $1000 each for a phone that will be worth $400 in 3 years, and locked to Verizon! And jumping through hoops.
I'll stick to my prepaid carrier, unlocked iPhone 2 generations old that I'm paying $15/month for unlimited talk and unlimited 5G. People are going crazy paying money for phones that will expire worthless. I wouldn't even pay $400 for this phone. I haven't spent over $200 on any iPhone.
I understand this might be some "deal" price compared to MSRP but come on, people should see this as the biggest SCAM ever.
Not at all a scam if you were going to buy 4 of the newest iphones at retail price.
My bill with tax = 140 / month
x 3 years = $5040
Less $900 gift cards
Less - $300 portal savings
Total cost - $3840
Cost of 4x iphone pros would have been $999 x 4

So basically just got 3 years of free verizon service.
Devices unlock after 60 days (have already unlocked for me)
Also think I'm saving an extra $5 or $10 on my FIOS bill.

Service isnt great but I'm not sure the priority is any lower than prepaid.

If you would have gotten the Verizon any way, I suppose it's a good deal. I just am not used to spending over $20 / line for voice.

It's generally difficult to get significant discounts on a current generation iPhone aside from a carrier deal, but if you have a deal for iPhone 16 Pro's for significantly below retail I'm all ears.

Since iPhones hold their value so well, In another year or so I will be able to sell or trade in for a new model and only take a couple hundred dollars hit while getting a new battery & warranty.

I'm not real excited about the VZW service, but in this deal it was essentially free for me, so currently using it as a dual sim with T-Mobile to cover those few rural areas where TMo coverage isn't great.

No I would not have gotten VZW anyways, but I wanted everyone in the family to have the newest iPhone, and there weren't significant discounts elsewhere, so I figured why not get some free VZW service.

So I guess no one knows for sure on locked vs unlocked? I can't find the info on verizon site. This either makes it a great deal or horrible deal.
All their phones will be unlocked after 60 day / 2 billing cycles. You can choose them to use or sell at any time.
Service cancelation before 36month = you'll have to pay remaining balance from full retail price. None paid balance = they'll send your bill to collection agency and blacklist unpaid phones.

You can always change providers, I know T Mobile pays up to 800 per line

I haven't traded in yet, but was told that i would get same value as new customer/new line, chat rep confirmed $1000 for trade in.
VZ has target offers for existing customers. we have one offer for $800 and the other $1000 for trade in value. I tried working with agents on the phone and chat, but it was a bit difficult as they seemed to have different info. I went to the local VZ store and they have all the promotion available to our account. It was a much easier experience, but they charged us $40 for each phone for set up and transfer data.

Great tip
IMHO bad tip because the last time VZW ran this deal (nov) most people who ordered through agents had trouble with their rebates. (agents manual coding incorrectly removed promotion or something)

You also cant use portals to get additional savings many of which are much more than $35

Ordering without agent intervention my rebates ($900) all came fairly promptly (about 4 weeks) and I got 20K airline miles as well.
