Yeah, I don't know what studies this guy is talking about. The effectiveness of pre-workouts depends on the specific ingredients and individual responses, which means a blanket statement on all pre-workouts is not only inaccurate but blatantly ignorant.

The problem with a lot of preworkouts is that they are underdosed in specific ingredients hidden from consumers by using proprietary formulas, but we know how effective common ingredients like caffeine, creatine, citrulline, and beta-alanine are at enhancing performance. To deny this but claim that studies have proven otherwise makes no sense; the science proves that some of these ingredients in the right dosages will elicit enhanced performance in most individuals.
Some different perspective. I don't drink coffee as I am sure others don't, especially before going to a gym. A fair comparison to coffee would be an energy drink not a pre-workout. I have been working out 20+ years and been taking pre-workouts like bsn n.o.xplode or some variant most for years, I can assure, no comparison. I also usually will have an energy drink during the work day. Pre-workouts don't just contain caffeine, usually they have other ingredients that help with pumps aka blood flow.

Now in terms of ROI, what's the cost of a cup of coffee vs an energy drink or pre-workout. The k-cups cost what 50 cent to a dollar? The cost of this is way less even BSN at 60 servings for 45 is less or same as a k-cup.

I am not one of these meatheads either, but I have a good build and lots of years going to the gym (2-3 times a week) and using pre-workouts.

Only 180mg of caffeine per serving but cheap enough at $0.30/serving. I usually just pick one from more popular brands at $1/serving on average.

Pretty much every study has shown that rework sups don't work. Just drink a cup of coffee 1/2 an hour before heading to the gym.

Not amazing, but a good deal with the sale. You need the two-scoop quantities to get the full amount of supplements. 15 servings for $9 is pretty good.
