Lowest of the low. These boards blow up easily, and the deal gets even worse if you add replacement cost and labor

Part of the allure for me is having a PC that I can upgrade all the components. It appears the 9600x will be fine on this, but what if you want to upgrade to a 9800x3d or a newer gen part with higher power draw? Might not work out the best for you in the future.
Same price and perks but with a different board. Opinions please

The issue is when you decide to upgrade the cpu down the road and it can't handle the much more powerful cpu you want to upgrade too. The reason why so many like AMD, is that the sockets don't change for a long time making the motherboard choice more important.
The design is good for 150-200amps. Most b650 boards are between 600-1000amps. Using 10-30% capacity is the efficiency sweetspot for VRMs.
This board theoretically would require the VRMs to operate at nearly 50-90% to support the bigger chips.
The Overclock menu is disabled in bios, that's how weak the power delivery is. This is not a good board to start your build with. It's flashable to an unlocked version, but again, you're at the grace of unofficial motherboard bioses now, day and age where cybercrime is a Major Concern.
The bios is locked for PBO boost, the reason for that is because of how weak the VRMs are.
There is an unlocked bios you can flash, but the point is, WHY would they do this. It's because of how de-tuned the whole board is. It's actually the Lowest VRM configuration listed for B650 on the AM5 master list. You want to be reliant on flashing unofficial bioses in this day and age where Cybercrime is a major concern?
It's like buying the absolute cheapest pair of slippers, it tears while you're walking, you fall into a ditch, scrape your knee, get an infection, and you die.
WHY do that, You can't save up another $50 to get something else?

The motherboard is the hardest thing to change out. That's the one piece I don't want to have to upgrade

But gaming should be ok for most people. I just don't think it's worth penny pinching at this level if you intend to upgrade, this isn't exactly cheap.
So long as it's a reliable PSU
Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus $160. Pretty good for an AM5 motherboard that isn't A620 or refurb. (Unless the concerns above are correct.)
Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR5-6400 (right one?) $95
Looks like a great RAM choice. Easily beats out the $299 9600X / ASUS Prime B650M-A / 16 GB bundle.
I disagree. You can get 16GB more of DDR5 for $50. Then you've spent the same have the same basic parts, but end up with a superior motherboard.

I can't speak personally on the board, so I can only go by the warnings here and the reviews on Newegg
Looks like the ~$300 bundle from November had CL32 RAM instead of CL36 and a 1TB M.2 instead of 500GB, aside from being a 9600X instead of a 7600X of course. Prices in the past for their 7600X bundles range from ~$300 to $350
I've been wanting to upgrade for a while, but really want an 8-core CPU, and I'm not planning on upgrading down the line, although a good AM5 mobo is nice. At this point I'm not sure if I should wait for the Micro Center in Santa Clara to eventually open; I've been eyeing their $400 7700X bundle for a while now
How does this deal compare to the bundles Micro Center offers?
