Don't buy this, motherboard is really bad, Junk. VRM trash tier. 5+2+2, Discreet Mosfet, Not using power stages.

Lowest of the low. These boards blow up easily, and the deal gets even worse if you add replacement cost and labor
it's true if you try to put a 16 core cpu in this. it's good enough to handle 9600x
Perfect for a boot drive. Stop spreading terrible information.

AsRock B850m Steel Legend for $180 on Amazon. If you don't care about Micro ATX form factor there are even more choices for B850 boards.
Asrock B850 boards are blowing up people's 9800x3ds , do your research carefully before going that route. EEK!

Check their reddit.

Now I'm on the fence. Does it matter for a 9600 CPU? Can I do future upgrades on it?Edit: Thank you for all the inputs. I cancelled the order. If you are like me, thinking about buying this motherboard, I hope this video helps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUUVW7wgR3s
if you're just gonna plug and play and not overclock you're good with almost any cpu you want to throw at it including the 3d models.

You can not get lower than this motherboard. It is actually THE lowest spec VRM B650 that is on the AM5 Master list. The design is good for 150-200amps. Most b650 boards are between 600-1000amps. Using 10-30% capacity is the efficiency sweetspot for VRMs. This board theoretically would require the VRMs to operate at nearly 50-90% to support the bigger chips. The Overclock menu is disabled in bios, that's how weak the power delivery is. This is not a good board to start your build with. It's flashable to an unlocked version, but again, you're at the grace of unofficial motherboard bioses now, day and age where cybercrime is a Major Concern.
1000 Amps!!??? LOL That's more than a home's entire breaker panel! A standard receptacle only handles 15 to 20 Amps. heheheh

Voltage also plays a role here. Your home appliance is on 110V

Absolutely. the PS is just over the 750 recommended, but a 5-10% downvolt will ensure it doesn't cap out the PSU ever, and most likely extend the longevity of the card
I have a 3080 and a 5600x with 750 watts and it's fine as this comment suggests. The 9600x is more efficient and shouldn't use as much pwr, BUT, I wouldn't buy this deal for the mobo issue mentioned in the thread, just my 2 cents.

Was getting excited until opened the thread and read about the mobo. I'm not surprised there's a catch, it's Newegg, they're infamous for bundling something desirable with something compromised, forcing consumers to weigh the deal against a future customer service issue with a famously difficult company to work with, Newegg. Hard pass. From my experience with Newegg, it's not worth it.

better off doing the ASUS ROG STRIX B850-A GAMING WIFI with free 32gb of corsair argb sticks for $250-$20 bundle deal and adding the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X - Ryzen 5 9000 Series Granite Ridge (Zen 5) 6-Core 3.9 GHz (includes 500gb of p400 m.2 SSD) for $221 = totals out to $471, much better board, great ram and eh ssd with a speedy 9600x!

This is a great deal depending on what you are using it for. I wanted to get my aunt a new pc that would be low end but capable enough for her to do all of her basic things she needs to do while remaining future proof for a long time as her computer can't support Windows 11 and it's like 10+ years old. She likely isn't getting a GPU to start with so this is a great starter kit. If you plan on getting a big cpu in the future or a higher end graphics card this isn't for you, it's great for younger and older users who want something that works as stuffs expensives these days.
But getting a boot drive, 32gb of ram, a mobo and a modern cpu for 350 brand new is a great bundle if you are looking for a low budget new build. When every dollar counts arguing it's just x dollars more isn't always feasible. Just manage your expectations and if you do this seems like a great deal. Just install everything and boot it within the return period in case of a DOA.

How does a lower vs higher end gpu affect anything related to the motherboard? I thought a pcie slot can only deliver 75W max and the rest of the power feeds directly into the gpu from the PSU via 6-pin/8-pin/12VHPR bypassing the motherboard, no? I was planning to use this bundle with a 9070xt to drive my 4k display. Do you think I should step down to like a 7800xt so that I can grab a better motherboard and cpu?

500GB drive in 2025 is criminally low I'd say. It should only be showing up on low-end laptops or chromebooks. Basically it's $349 for the CPU, MoBo and 32GB RAM. Not bad.
It's enough for my work computer.

Bunch of newegg shills or what? Who cares about a 6 core cpu in 2025?
People who spend their money on mortgages instead of specs they don't use.

I'm pretty sure under 1% of users would notice a benefit from more than 6 cores. I'm a lot more of a power user than most, but the fact is that almost nothing is limited by my Ryzen 5 3600X CPU that I'm running right now.

But I grew up in the 90s playing 2D games at 30 fps. I've been happy with pretty much any desktop computer since SSDs became mainstream about 12 years ago.

There used to be some high quality lists, but that got all muddled. Go for one with at least a 5 year warranty, probably 7. It's probably a great idea to stick with great PSU companies like Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, or EVGA. There are a few other solid brands that are less common.

For what it is worth, I got a similar bundle to this last fall(same mobo, 7600x, 32gb and 1 tb NVME). I am using said parts with a 9070xt at 4k and am super happy with the performance. I have it connected to a 42" LG C4 OLED. The higher refresh rate is awesome. I have had 0 stability issues and I don't care to overclock so I was not worried about any power related things. I do have a pretty good quality power supply though

Also you are correct on the PCIE slot providing 75W power with the rest coming from the power supply.
