So the Slim drive version is on sale now for $450. That puts it at $130 for two years of premium (normally $320) so still a good deal, but just make sure that you're a) fine with the fat version and b) will actually use premium. I converted all my years to premium till 2027 back when it was announced (only cost ~$40) and have maybe played two or three premium games in the last two years.

edit: and big thing I forgot - you're also missing out on astro bot which is AMAZING (thanks Surfdog1000)
Where had you been the whole time?

Aside from new employees who try being sales robots (and thankfully never last) my closest three Gamestop stores have great employees.

Of course having worked retail multiple times I've seen every kind of customer there is. The ones who realize that we're just doing a job and human beings are the best. The ones who expected us to come when called and treated us like servants? They can follow The Rock's sage advice about where to stick their attitude. Had one guy whistle for me after "hey, hey you" didn't work. I wanted to deck the ignorant pos.

Same with mine. Every once in a while I see what seems like a lazy or clueless employee there (usually around holidays when they hire temp work), but usually Gamestop has employees that the company should be thankful they have.

I did the same conversion but mine was only upto this month. I too hardly played anything on the service so I let it end and not reupping.

This is so strange to see. I thought Sony moved all fat PS5s and only had slims at this point?
I would value the original disc version of the PS5 at $400, max. Based on past sales, age, and value compared to the slim with larger storage.
So are 24 months of PS+ Premium worth $180 to you? That's the question.

I'd tack on that the PS Portal is legit a great handheld vessel, so a buyer could stream those cloud games in 1080p while connecting to their console for everything else.

I personally put an extra drive into the original PS5 ($50 and about 10 mins total of work) so I don't think I'd be discouraged from this deal if I were to do it again

Isn't Costco PS slim bundle with 1 game and 2 controllers for 499 better deal if you need 2 controllers and don't want to pay for PS plus 2 yrs?
Edit oh I don't think that's disc version. Oh it actually is the disc version...

PS5 Disc OG goes for $450+ on eBay. 1 year of PS+ Premium is $160 MSRP. You're getting 2 years (which is $320 MSRP) for $130 ($580 for this minus $450 normal price for just the console).

That's not a bad deal.

Premium is garbage and it was $99 like a month ago (still horribly overpriced).

You forgot C) you are ok not getting the Astro bot Game, I usually play the same multiplayer all the time so definitely can survive with the standard plus, but my kids love the 1st Astro game so I when for the Astro version, still this is a very good deal for those who need premium

That's a super good point and didn't even think about it. That was a day one purchase for me when it released and loved it.

I wouldn't count a $200 accessory into the value equation, myself. Game streaming is a YMMV experience. As far as cloud gaming goes, people have to consider their piece of tech essentially becomes a paperweight when the gaming subscription ends.

Which model is more reliable? Slim or original? Which gets hotter?
