I own a pair and especially at $40 this is an amazing deal. They are super lightweight which probably my favorite feature. They're comfortable and I have a somewhat large head. The one thing is the volume is not super loud on these. I personally don't mind as I never go past 80% on these, but honestly at this price, you can't go wrong. I bought a second pair for my work computer and originally paid $80 when I first bought mine.

I don't doubt that prices are only going up on everything forever more. I was just surprised this stereo (not 7.1) headset was this expensive.

What prices are considered a good deal on a 7.1 headset nowadays? I'll need to buy a replacement soon, and I'm not sure if I should stick with Logitech or get another brand. The problem isn't the sound quality but just that the plastic or wires break... almost like they are cheaply made in another country and designed to fail after the warranty ends.
I'm not an audiophile. I can't comment too much on sound quality. I play MMOs, RTS, and while I used to play CS, I wasn't top tier listening to footsteps from my left backside etc.

I am using the Arctis 3 now but wanted to cut the cord. I didn't want to spend over $100. This fits the bill perfectly for what I do for less gaming now, some movies, and occasional discord/teams. Tough to beat $40, but the Arctis 7P refurb just hit $80, and I couldn't turn it down. On Rtings (https://www.rtings.com/headphones...0952/34785) the Arctis 7p actually doesn't win by much, in fact it loses in audio quality. I am simply going with Arctis in this case because it has the option of using an TRRS cable as a backup, and can take 2 input sources, and the audio difference is negligible to me. The G535 actually lasts longer on battery, and if I was on a tight budget I wouldn't even mind at $40 I think thats a great price nowadays and I could have used my Arctis 3 wired as a backup in a drawer.

Just noticed I didn't address your issue at all for 7.1 maybe check this https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc...eadphones/ that kind of says 7.1 headsets aren't real... but that the Arctis seems to offer simliar spatial sound. Even then the budget was $300 for a 3y old thread..

Thanks and repped for that suggestion. I should've said I've never spent more than $50 on a gaming headset before. In prior years I got many for $25-$40. I might have a 7.1 set somewhere if I look around, but I always like to have a spare.

I hope there is an acceptable option for a 7.1 headset in the $50 or less range even with inflation of recent years. I don't remember having any sound issues on my headsets which I use for gaming, not for music or movie watching. They just seem designed to break in 1-2 years. Usually the wires short and the sound goes out, but this time the plastic broke and I never dropped the headset.

My pair arrived today and although I understand they are meant to be light, it makes them feel very cheap. I can definitely see where the low volume complaints come into play and my initial Discord testing hasn't been super great. Will try a gaming session later to see how it's received, but hate to say this may be returned.

Just got it, Returning it. Subpar headset. No real surround support - does not support real multi channel audio. Latest Logitech software is terrible , max volume level is very low, EQ does not work. Max headband adjustment is not enough to accommodate larger heads comfortably.
