so the only advantage to paying so much for so little wattage is that it can act like a UPS?why aren't there $100 inverters out there that can act like a UPS so you can DIY and just add your own 100ah 12v lifepo4 battery$150 battery + $100 inverter/charger/ups = $250 for 1000 watts vs "286"
This is 600 watts steady with boost up to 1200 watts.
I've never had a power station before - would this be good for hurricane season in Florida when the power inevitably goes out for like 4 days? I work from home and wonder if this would power my router and laptop so I could still work in a power outage.
Think the River 2 Pro is a better bang for the buck here. Almost 3x the capacity with more outlets, and not that much bigger footprint. I originally ordered mine from Amazon for $359 but cancelled once I saw Costco had it for $309. Perfect for my use case which is 2-4 day camping trips with multiple families. Paired it with a 200w solar panel just incase we need the extra juice. Also both would work in a pinch for the necessities during hurricane season down here in South Florida.
That (River 2 Pro) doesn't have <10ms response time for use as a UPS does it?

but what about next year... it'll be 2026 and you'll still have only 1 usb c ports
By then River 5 will come out making everything useless and obsolete anyway right? Seriously why do you people always put down good deals for something that is either not even out yet or newly released when this unit will work just fine for almost everyone?
You could always plug in a dual USB C charger into one of the 3 AC ports if you need additional C ports. It also has two USB A.
If you want more USB ports on this then buy a car charger and plug it into the carport of the power station. That port remains DC. For standard ac outet The power station converts DC to AC. If you plug in a standard charger into the AC outlet port the charger will convert back from AC to DC.
The DC power station converts to AC for the outlet then the standard charger will convert AC back to DC. This is inefficient and you will squander electricity.

Someone already mentioned this earlier in the thread.
But it still isn't very efficient, since you're running through two different step down converters if you end up using both ports.
The better solution is to buy appropriate batteries for the devices you intend to power.
If 1 USB port is a deal breaker, you'd probably be better off with a battery bank meant for laptops.

Thanks for the info about the Costco deal! I just need it for power storage, not for computer UPS. Do you mind sharing what kind of 200w panel you are using? Thanks.

is $40 for a 45watt panel even worth it?
