Some great movies in here! Picked up Pacific Rim. Did some digging a while ago on the best looking movies on 4k disc and heard that movie was considered one of the best.
That can be said of any " expert" in any specific subject. The average person won't pay mind to it nor care. I ordered The Dark Night despite his critique. I'll enjoy it just the same.
lol no expert here, just pointing out information.
I agree,to each their own and I'll enjoy it just the same, literally on the audio side!
Without spending a dime!

Between a good and not so good transfer, yes you can.
That's kinda the point of sites like blu ray.com.
Yes, if your display doesn't support DV you don't need the 820 & the 420 is the better option.
If on a budget the 420 is probably still the better option.
Not all disc offer DV & the difference between DV & HDR generally isn't a $200 one.
Especially if there is no audio upgrade.
Hey Rob… I remember reading something about the 420 not having as many static HDR presets or something as the 820. Like if you have a projector, the 820 has additional HDR brightness ranges that might potentially better accommodate it. I can't seem to find that information anymore. Do you know anything about that?

It does, look under advance settings and then HDR tv type.
FYI unless you have a native UHD projector that offer DV, the 420 is all you need.

The only real difference is 420 does not support Dolby Vision.
