Vote with your wallet. Buy it if you think what Nintendo is doing is okay, if this is how you want to be treated; the choice is yours.

That's fair - I'm hoping the thread is helpful though for those trying to get ahold of one and not have to pay over retail on any marketplace.

Damn, I thought SlickDeals people were high-information consumers. These comments have proven otherwise, it's like I'm on Reddit.
Nope. Mostly to complain while living at home still.

yes this will be buying a new TV than a plasma TV. The tech advancements are as astronomical as going to the moon
Okay, irrelevant to this thread but I happen to be selling my Panasonic 42" plasma and it has a far superior picture quality, even at 720p, than the $300 "4k" junk TVs at walmart

I'm wondering how long Nintendo will be able to keep these at MSRP.

90 CAD probably
Canadian price is $110. The false $90 claim came about because European prices were revealed slightly before US prices. Someone did a direct conversion from Euros to Dollars and it came out to ~$90. Then Reddit, Twitter, etc. ran with that as if it was fact and now here we are.

Also worth noting that Nintendo is doing two-tier pricing in Europe, where the physical version costs ~$10 more than the digital version. It's the physical one that is ~$90, digital is ~$80. In the US, both are $80 (or $50 with the bundle).

I've been reading that these should be easy to get. A lot have been produced, demand is down, and we are heading into a recession. The Switch 2 looks like its going to be a repeat of the Wii U. Where Nintendo had to make price cuts to sell units due to poor sales in the beginning. It's so weird for them to release a console in June. Parents are heavily spending near Christmas for gifts.
Heading into a recession? Haha
What do you think we've been living through

It was a booming economy until two months ago. The strongest economy in the world.

Inflation wasn't the highest by a mile, but it was the fastest and strongest recovery from post-covid inflation. Don't get your facts from Newsmax.

While I'd prefer an OLED, I'd rather have that LCD 120hz with VRR than an OLED at 60hz.

As someone who's never owned a Switch and just wants to play Pokemon, should I buy this over a Switch Lite?
I think this depends more on whether you'll ever want to play on a TV. It's easy to confuse a Switch Lite for a Switch (or even a Switch 2) but it's really not. It's more like an upgraded 3DS with a huge game library.

Is the move to pay $50 for Mario cart digitally? Would def prefer physical
I like physical myself as I like to collect games. Personally I am willing to pay the premium. Also a big thank-you to Nintendo that game-key cards that aren't truly-physical games are going to be clearly marked. They obviously listened to the fans on that one.
