I called them. Here is exactly what I put in my notes:

NOW Foods - Cust service told me on 6/20/22 that all their supplements are manufactured in the US. All their whey is sourced from cows in Wisconsin. All others will vary by supplement.

Of course things could have changed but people shouldn't be saying that ALL their products are sourced in China without knowing for a fact. Some things simply can't be sourced in the US. It's just a fact of the times.
Thanks! That's good info.

I can't find any protein from major brands that claim their whey is sourced in the US on the label. Maybe if you dug into it more on their website you could find it.

They all say some variation of "Manufactured in the US with domestic and internationally sourced ingredients."

I doubt all these major brands are sourcing their whey isolate from China.

It was sure be helpful to the consumer and beneficial to their sales if they stated it on the packaging. Who knows why they don't.

I think once these automated fraud protections systems flag your account you're kind of screwed. Just went through a very similar experience trying to purchase a laptop off of walmart's site. Nearly a dozen cancelled orders and hours on the phone with CS.

Do you have a relative or friend nearby with a fresh account and different billing info you could try?
You may be right. My orders were shipped today; not sure what I'll receive LOL.

My partner's order has still not shipped but not canceled either.

Advice for those who want to try an order: create an account, order product with discount codes. Wait 30 minutes and call phone CS. Ask them specifically to verify your account.

Vitacost used to be very reliable. Hope this is just a fraud alert thing.

Thanks Billy_m for posting the deal. I hope I get what I ordered.

no no no i never said everything they make is from china. their xylitol is 100% from china, everything else varies wildly but almost none of it is sourced from the US. their unflavored whey isolate is sourced from china, so unless china changed the name to wisconsin lately, they're misleading you or lying to you or providing outdated info to you or all 3. believe it or not what the hell do i care but let's be clear about what i said

come on man this took literally 3 minutes, so no they don't ALL say that:

https://www.tgsnutrition.com/

Made in USA
Most things nowadays are imported from other countries with lower quality manufacturing practices and ingredients. We make and package all our products here in the USA in GMP/NSF certified facilities. We support local industry and source from the USA when possible on a product by product basis. Some ingredients can be imported if quality is superior elsewhere.

Allmax Isonatural Whey Isolate -

Source: The whey protein isolate used in AllMax IsoNatural is derived from "100% U.S. Dairy Farmed" whole milk, hence the proudly displayed "Product of USA" label on all product containers

I said almost none of the MAJOR brands say their whey is sourced in the US. I've never even heard of tgsnutrition.

I also said "Maybe if you dug into it more on their website you could find it."

Looked into ON, Dymatize, Isopure, etc. the big protein brands. Just looked at their containers and they all had a variation of the "Made in US with domestic and internationally sourced ingredients."

Even Transparent Labs used to proudly state their whey was sourced from grass fed cows in New Zealand but now they just have a short thing about how the cows are grass fed and free range but make no mention of where.

It might be that they couldn't draw attention to the fact their whey isolate is domestically sourced without also drawing attention to the Chinese sourced fillers and sweeteners so they just have that vague "Manufactured in the US with..." statement. Who knows?

Glad they finally shipped! Felt bad so many people had cancelled orders but Vitacost is kind of an OG in the supplements game so I figured it wasn't them being shady or something like that.

I'm pretty sure China sources from the US because we have more cattle than they do. If anything, Brazil would be the other source of whey probably.

How do you know for a fact that their unflavored whey isolate is sourced from China? You posted a link about NOW sourcing it's ingredients from around the world but that doesn't tell us anything. billy_m also asked you how your are sure of this and you never responded. If NOW flat out lied to me, so be it. I want to know so I can stop ordering it.

Wonder if this is where they get their whey: https://www.wisconsinwhey.com/

I doubt the NOW rep was lying to you. They probably have a script they read off of provided by the company. NOW has a solid reputation and I don't think they'd jeopardize that by deliberately misinforming customers, not to mention the legal issues.

Right, I can't imagine them lying about it either. I did another pretty extensive internet search and could not find anything about it being sourced from China. I did find a couple more blurbs about it coming from Wisconsin.

From where? And what was the cost per pound?
It was from a company in Wisconsin called Dana Foods. It's $10/lb. Worth it to me to not frantically source a new bag at the best price every time I run out. I anticipate the bag will last about 6 months with our usage. I bought the buckets at HD.

I am curious as to why you removed the supplier's name?
Thought it looked bad and didn't want to seem like a company rep or shill.
