So… back in like 2008, I bought a pair of these for a friend. There was a series of mods popular for this on Head-Fi, stuffing the earcups with cotton and adding mass, stuff to treat the sound and deaden resonances. For a real cheap price, I was able to give my friend a taste of HiFi, and he was blown away.

In my mind, they're big pleather-padded closed headphones, but they're really cheap and easy to improve. I use way more expensive stuff now, but something like this has high performance for the price. Oh, and they don't weigh close to 2 pounds 🤣

I have HARX700. Built like a tank and sounds amazing. Blind buy for the big brother at <$30. (although 3.5 mm jack is now rare)
