Chase Freedom or Sapphire cardholders: Redeem 2250 Reward Points for $25 eBay GC

+23 Deal Score
29,789 Views
For Chase credit cardholders, they currently have a (10%) sale on redeeming reward points for certain gift cards. The eBay one seemed like the only decent one, assuming you don't have better ways of redeeming your Ultimate Rewards points (i.e., like getting an additional 25%/50% bonus when redeeming for travel with Chase Sapphire).

eBay 2250 = $25

For Chase Sapphire, the other ones are:
Fandango, H&M, IHOP, Krispy Kreme, One4all Happy Moments, One4all Happy Birthday
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This is a pretty bad use of points, you should be saving these for travel or transferring to other portals, would get a lot more bang for buck.

That's not for everyone. I never use points for travel / transfer and I have Chase Sapphire Reserve.
There's also the occasional 25%-50% bonus points for Apple products. I also don't travel much but got an iPhone 16 Pro 128GB for $730 cash equivalent including tax. This phone is $999 retail.

Obviously, you both are welcome to spend your points however you'd like, including donating them to charity

I'm just pointing out that we're on slick deals, most on here want to get the best deal, including the best use of their points. The CSR/CSP are travel credit cards, and there can be some high-value travel redemptions. If you prefer cash back, there are more rewarding credit cards for this, like the Robinhood 3% or Citi Double Cash. If one just got this card for the signup bonus, they're no longer using it to acquire points beyond a small quarterly swipe to keep the card from closing. You can downgrade the CSR/CSP to either the Chase Freedom Flex or Freedom Unlimited to avoid an annual fee if you elect to follow the "slick deal" mindset with your credit card points

This. As someone who rarely flies, UR transfers to Hyatt are great bang for the buck. Just note it requires one of the premium Chase cards with an annual fee to serve as the vehicle to transfer the points out to travel partners.

So this deal is basically $2.50 value. Barely worth reading in.

I've always read this and wanted to use my points most efficiently, but I probably average one night in a hotel a year.

And that one night at a Hyatt hotel could save you hundreds if available. It saved me many hundreds over a five day stay this spring. I decided to book very late and one day was booked up at the Hyatt hotel for points and that one day cost me an extra $250 compared to UR points.

It's an iPhone. Don't smash it or lose it and you will have no worries. Now my second time doing this. iPhone 12 Pro working perfectly when sold on marketplace. Not to mention you can still purchase Apple care if you are that paranoid.

Aren't the points best used to transfer from csp to Hyatt? Most say it's a 2:1 ratio which works well for additional Hyatt nights on top of the annual free night with the Hyatt card.

Just want to point out that eBay now, just like Amazon, allows you to load the gift cards into your account. Once you load it into your account, no one can steal the code anymore. https://giftcards.ebay.com/balance

Wait wait wait… you're paying a $550 annual fee on a CC that is designed to be used for points for travel or transfer to travel partners, and you're not using it for that? Why are you even paying the extra $460 and not using the preffered instead with the $95 annual fee?
