Also. embracing for the time machine jokes, I still think 16e 128gb at $299 for the phone, was a better deal and might come back - far superior processor, 8gb ram, Apple AI support, longer os update support, convenient usb-c port instead of lightning etc. These far outweigh the potential advantages from 14 plus - 256gb, dual camera, magsafe, larger screen size etc for me.
Not true for everyone/every use case, agreed. YMMV

As long as my credit card gets charged what my order confirmation states (a little over $330, after taxes and fees), and not $350 extra, that's what matters.

In that sort of mid-$300 price point is the base iPad, yes, it now has the A16 chip, but the screen is dull and doesn't get as bright. Yeah, the phone isn't an iPad, and I can't write directly on it in the same way there are apps for the iPad (with a stylus/Apple Pencil), but a lot of what I think my use case will be for is mostly for reading web pages/articles/news, watching videos, using some apps, social media, texting, etc. that can be done on a phone or tablet. And a cellular iPad is likely $500 minimum for the regular iPad, and the one I'd want is the Air and that's even more expensive. So I just thought the price in the low-mid $300s for the 14 Plus and portability/connectivity (as a cellular device), with only 60 days until it unlocks, is a great value (for my use case). I will say I am curious how well "action mode" (available in the 14 series but not 13) works and am looking forward to testing it out.
I'm sure there will be deals in the future. Hard to know when (but Verizon prepaid does offer deals periodically in iPhones) or whether Verizon will fully adopt the ID/address verification as a hurdle to getting their phone discounts (as it appears that Metro now has too sometime in the last couple of months, and Total has been this way for a while).
When I turned it on for the first time, the battery was at 27% charge. I got the 256GB version.
I just updated it to the latest 18.5 and all is woking fine.
I like the fact that it has the same 12MP main camera module as the 13 Pro Max which is better in low light and colors than the newer 48MP modules, since its lens has a larger aperture and longer focal length for less distorted images (26 vs 24 mm Eqv).
This 14+ is a great value at this price and highly recommended!

The 128 GB is $199 and the 512GB is $499.
I only pay $15/mo for my cellular plan or $180 annually. So for my use case, much more expensive with Visible.
Anyone able to get it for $4.99? Customer support was super rude and didn't help at all.
