This was an all time low for me with LEGOs on Amazon. I received my order this afternoon with the labeled slapped directly on the LEGO box with no packaging of any kind. Surprise, surprise, the box did not survive shipping remotely intact. Although it's nothing new with Amazon cutting corners on packaging materials, this is beyond frustrating. I'd strongly recommend avoiding Amazon on LEGO purchases except perhaps for large sets that typically come pre-boxed directly from LEGO.

Pffft. Just contact support for a new one. Half the time they will let you keep the old one as well.

I've never once had them let me keep a set over maybe $8. I've given them plenty of chances, sometimes returning a set three or four times only to have another damaged set arrive a few days later. Wal-Mart and Target seem to always box LEGOs, and of course the LEGO shop packages things well.

once, a smaller lego set that i ordered separately was shipped with my subscribe and save order of a 12 pack of bottles of tea (i.e. heavy) and no other padding in the shipping box. Schrödinger himself would not have to open the shipping box to know that my lego set was dead.
