Looks like it supports up to 16GB RAM (8GB soldered, one open SODIMM slot). 300nits IPS display.

Oh man No backli keyboard kills it for me. Why do they go cheap on these things? It probably costs $10 to add backlit keyboard which I will gladly pay.

Very old 12th gen i5 which I think is still good and very power efficient and knowing you won't have the instability problems affecting 13th and 14th gen although I think most of those were solved by BIOS updates. Have to open the bottom to add the RAM but they probably have instructions online.

Pretty good deal for a new system once you add 8GB of RAM.

no backlit keyboard and older than 13th gen processor kills the deal even if you add additional RAM

I have added 16gb ram to these laptops for a total of 24gb. These laptops have torx screws on the bottom plate with an EMI shield over the dimm slot. It is relatively simple to upgrade if you have an ifixit kit.

Yes. As I've gotten older, I really appreciate a backlit keyboard. Works even better if the keys are a dark color, vs the silver keyboard I have.

I've only seen a teardown of the 14" model which has a standard m2. slot. Best Buy has a 15 day return policy for laptops. Maybe you can buy it and if it doesn't meet your upgrade needs then return it?

Well for comparison I was able to get a used Dell Latitude 16" 2-in-1, i7-1260, 16GB, 512GB for $350.
Battery was at 85% capacity and SSD was at 90% life but your mileage may vary. USB-C to charge is nice on those. It's a premium looking laptop if you are okay with lower battery capacity and no number pad.
