This is a crazy good price. Overall I like this trimmer. I don't especially love how you load the string, but it's better than some others. The Echo speed feed trimmer head is by far the best. This has a similar principle, but not done as well

Seems like a good deal with battery and charger included. In for one, will try it out. How do these stack up against makita?

This is a solid price (the battery alone sells for more than this normally). I have three different Toro 60V string trimmer models - this model is the least "heavy duty" of the three. Note that if you want to attach a solid blade or a different type of head, only the attachment-capable model has a standard removable head that supports that. With this one, you will be limited to string only.

Side note: You must purchase this online for store pickup or delivery for this price, in store price is higher. Purchased one if it's great I'm buying another just for the battery. Update: took it out after charging it and WOW this thing did awesome job, slightly heavy but it's solid. Great purchase thanks to the one for finding & posting this SD!

I hate my echo speed feed. No matter which way I wind it, it pulls in when I tap for it to come out. Customer service sent me a new one and same thing. Can't wait to get rid of it.

I don't have the Echo speed feed head, but one similar to it. It sounds like you have the inner plastic piece that the trimmer line winds around upside down as some trimmers spin clockwise and some spin counter-clockwise. That inner piece should have an R embossed on one side and an L embossed on the other side. Did it at one point it fall out when you were replacing the line and perhaps accidentally put it back in upsides down? As I have done that once. What you can do is mark the top side out with some bright paint or something visible. Unspool any existing line that you have in your trimmer and flip that inner piece upside down, put the cap back on and reinsert the trimmer line and wind the line back in. Try it out and let me know if that solves your problem. Have a great day/weekend!
