Could be the 20% inflation we have had from 2021 through 2024 and another couple percent this year already. According to an inflation calculator $499 in 2021 when the series X was released is $610 now.

Tariffs make sense on the components, but games? (Most) Games don't need to step over the border, and a lot of games are developed in the US. Weird pricing. Also…. UGH!

This is the worst case scenario for Microsoft as the Xbox is already having a hard time worldwide....so to go up in pricing (and to have to announce it at the same time a competitor is coming out with a new console) is awful.

I remember when there were so many deals on a Xbox on here. I got my XSS from Verizon for like $125. My XSX looks cheap as hell compared to this new price. The only reason they haven't driven up the sub pricing is because they just did previously + they know increasing that price will just price out someone and drive them towards Sony.
