This is the model without wifi so everything is through the car's interface. For anyone who's using adapters, this is likely a no-go.

Why would adapters + the car's interface make if a no-go? The CCS protocol still has to flow thru. Or are you talking about things like changing the charging speed (48A, 40A or further derating). Not having WiFi is kind of a bummer. Just got my first EV. Doesn't have a NACS port, but for this price might just deal with no WiFi and using an adapter (which I'd probably buy anyways to use with Tesla destination chargers)

Yes, you cannot derate the charging so you MUST have an electrical code compliant 14-50 outlet or hardwired breaker/wiring. If you don't, you're likely tripping the breaker.

If you have a Nema 14-50 you need to derate anyways, that receptacle is not rated for 48A. You need to limit it to 40A and use a 50A breaker. If you hardwire you can use a 60A breaker and charge at 48A, as long as you used #6 wire.

Not all Tesla vehicles will handle the higher charge speeds, even if it's hardwired.

The EVSE itself (at least the WiFi version) can derate further below 40a if you want a lower load on your electrical system. Not sure about this version. Maybe there is a switch or something
