I had one of the models before this and you do need a boundary wire. If the wire isn't connected to the base it won't run.

You install the wire 10in from the edge I think. The better job you do the closer it cuts to the edge. Pretty much pull the wire then hammer a stake and repeat. You can also get a camera that does help it avoid obstacles.

I have since moved onto a gps robot mower, because it became a little too inconsistent and the bouncing made it miss spots. However for this price it's not too bad to randomly have to clean up a few spots.

It does go back to the base and recharge automatically by following the wire around the edge.
The shit hits the fan
That would work, but it works best with an intelligent wire

The ebay description says open box like new. The same listing from worx on Walmart says renewed/refurbished.

I am going to try the 1/4acre since it has a larger battery and an inch wider cut.

What makes you think it's the same listing?

Same pricing. Same models. Only difference is description of condition. Search walmart for Landroid and look at sold by worx.

I've been looking for a robo mower that uses GPS, and ideally one that I can hack/modify to expierment with the hyper-accurate GPS that requires a physical node installed on your property.

Sounds like the one I had returned to Amazon ended up on Ebay. I had the 1/8 but I found out it was previously open and repacked had a lot of dust inside and the front well wasn't package right as it was placed in the battery box. So we had sent it back. I should have gotten the 1/4 I see here it was $389 still cheap. I didn't want to deal with the wire you have to run out side. They have them were you don't need to use the wire but those are very expensive.

Do you need a stupid boundry wire?
Can it just bounce around my fenced yard like a roomba? With no wire

I thought it was a stupid question to ask thanks for asking 🧐 I'm curious to know too. I would put the wire in certain areas but mostly a white picket fence.....do I need a wire by the fence? I would assume so since it is looking for an enclosed "boundary"?
