Been interested in grabbing one of these for a while, but I have a particular concern I heard and wanted more input on. Someone before mentioned that the material degrades over time, particularly if you use it a lot outside? "Wear and tear: The rubber and plastic parts can become brittle or cracked over time with regular use." I live in a humid tropical area so kinda concerned how long these would last.

Only wear mine for solo cycling and I enjoy them. Little weird fitting with helmet strap and glasses, but no issues hearing my garmin edge alerts or cars approaching.

Sweat, sunscreen, heat, and uv rays typically degrade materials. Up to you if it's worth the cost. How do your sunnies hold up? That's probably what I'd judge lifespan on.

I've been using the OpenRun almost daily for a year and the OpenRun Pro 2 for a couple weeks and will now return them for this deal. No issues with either. They're tacky silicon. The type that should degrade in the heat but mine show no signs of wear so maybe not. I wipe them down with a wet towel from time to time. I bought a USB-C dongle for my old OpenRuns but it's still nice not having to deal with it with the Pro 2. The Pro 2 actually has something like woofers aimed at your ears to make up for the lack of bass on the non-Pro. If you already have the OpenRun, maybe not worth upgrading but if they're buying for the first time, it's worth the small premium.
I was actually in the market for the OpenSwim Pro. It's basically a waterproof non-Pro OpenRun with some internal storage for MP3s which I wouldn't use. Too much hassle. Bluetooth range underwater is inches so I was planning on attaching my Apple Watch to my goggles. One day Shokz or someone is going to figure out a better system.

I was considering the shokz but I got the bose ultra open ear instead. For running, the bose is doing great job, I can hear the beeps from my garmin, i can hear the surrounding while the music is loud enough. on the windy day, I didn't get the wind noise affect with the in-ear earbuds which is thing I am happy most.

I have the openrun and used it regularly at work for about 2yrs. Around the 2yr mark, the rubber coating that presses up against your skin started flaking off (I couldn't even tell the difference with the rubber missing. Only noticed it when I actually looked at it). Still works and runs great! Battery last throughout the day, no complaints about the mic being muffled or cutting out when on the phone. If you're a bass person, this headset is not for you. The only way to explain how it sounds is, it's basically like someone has music playing in the background. You hear the music, plus you hear everything else around you. Hope this kind of helped.

I couldn't add the FTLR10. At the checkout it applies but at the time of payment, it goes away. I checked with customer care and they said it won't stack.
