Have these and air tags. Air tags are more accurate and will update along the way when they are moving. These really only update when they are at a location for a while (probably less Samsung phones out there to track these).
I find these much faster to connect to and beep than airtags when trying to find them. They will also beep until you stop them unlike like airtags which only beep for a bit and stop.
My favorite feature that Apple really needs is there is a button on them that you can double press and it makes your phone start beeping. I love this feature.
My advice is if you are trying to track lost/stolen items outside your house then an airtag will be better. If you are just looking to keep track of your keys inside your house and are ok with less accuracy out and about then I like these much better than airtags.

My side by side tests of these and airtags in the same luggage across over 30 flights domestic and international showed the Samsung trackers to be significantly more accurate and live than airtags. They also checked in at a much more frequent rate.

Fyi: These are Samsung specific. Meaning they don't work on Apple phones. Just thought I throw that out there, cause someone gonna eventually ask.

Samsung Find My is quite useless compared to Apple's as there aren't very many Samsung phones around. I lost my Samsung Buds and Find My doesn't update their location. So yeah, while I switched from iPhone to Samsung S24U, I am not going to move away from Airtags that can be used on my wife's phone/my spare old phone. I will be a buyer only when Samsung improves its find my to ping off of any Android device and not just a Samsung.
for what my own anecdote is worth, i lost my buds pro 3 like two weeks ago and i was able to find them through the find my app as they were being tracked by other phones

Aren't these pointless now that Samsung can't have their ecosystem automatically enable tracking like Apple somehow still can?
no that would be android's Find my device network, not Samsung's Smartthings find network - which is way more robust.

But your smart tag doesn't ping off of random people phones like apple unless they turn that feature in their phone on. I have these, they almost never update since Samsung was forced to make that change.

Lucky for you. I lost my Buds Pro 3 as well but wasn't lucky in finding them.

Sure it does. I'm not sure where you're getting that information because it's not something that is turned off by default. During setup you get to choose if you want to disable tracking, but that's about it. Apart form that the smart tag2 has a much larger range and battery life. And I've had zero issues locating my device even in the US where apple devices are predominant.

yes you can always locate your own device.

Im not talking about the same thing. Im talking about Samsung got sued for privacy crap, they were required to default all phones to OFF for connecting to devices like the Samsung tag. Strangers walking around may not actually be helping your tag give you an updated location because they'd have to enable allowing it to report them.
Apple is built i to terms of service and is allowed to force enable their air tags to update off of any iPhone.

Yes, Im not talking about locating my smart tags with my devices. I am talking about locating my smarttags using other devices on the smartthings find network. It works great. I know you're in denial about how good Samsung's Smartthing Find network is, but that's on you. I speak from experience in the US and while traveling globally.

Surprisingly, Samsung outsells Apple.
The more you know.....
Not in US. If you live in US like most people on this site, this information is very misleading.

If you have a Pixel or another Android phone that isn't Samsung, do a search for the Utag app. Works with SmartTag 2 like a charm.

AirTags run circles around these. These are not only Samsung specific, they are objectively not as good as you only get Samsung specific smartphones as your "network" vs literally all iOS devices.

Just spring the extra $20 for a 4-pack of AirTags
Has nobody ever told you all iOS devices are apple? How is that any different at all lol? Samsung sells more phones than Apple does, so while I agree, I think Apple implemented this tech better, you're using all the wrong logic to get there.

SmartTag2 have the travel history feature. Linking the dots on the map between the past reported locations. Apple airtags only shows the single last known location. If travel history matters to you. I would give Samsung tags a try.

Man reading the comments is a bit discouraging. I could use a tracker for the car so that my wife and I can keep an eye on each other. And I could also use one to facilitate finding things at home. But what Im hearing from the comments is that the product is just not there, no brand seems to have consistently worked for everyone. Bummer
These are cheap enough you get these and airtags and use both at the same time
