I'll echo what the first poster said. I've had this saw (hitachi) for probably 15 years. No issues and I have done some very accurate wood working projects with it. I wanted to replace it with a full size freestanding saw but at this price I'm considering just buying another

Is the lack of safety retractable blade something to factor in the decision process?

How does this compare to the DEWALT 10 table saw?
I bought one of these. I returned it because the table wasn't close to flat. And the rack and pinion was a bit sloppy. At least compared to the dewalt. I can't recall now, it's been a while, but I also didn't like how you had to deal with the riving knife on the Metabo. The quality of the dewalt is definitely higher and for what I was wanting it for, I wanted better quality. The Metabo had a soft start which was nice. For this price, it's a good deal. Just wasn't a good fit for me.

Wow, great deal, in for one. They took off another $11.45 when I used my Lowes card and I had $10 in Lowes cash, total out the door $245.19.
Anyone on the fence because you haven't heard the name, Metabo use to be called Hitachi and they make quality tools. I still have a Hitachi 12" miter saw that has been going strong for close to 15 years now, never had a problem with any Hitachi products I have had. The new Metabo Brad nailer I got 6 months ago is a beast too.

I've had one of these for a little while now and have been happy with it. This is a great price. I paid a couple hundred more than this.

How does this compare to the DEWALT 10 table saw?
I bought mine on at Lowe's on sale for $249 couple years ago to use as my shop saw and job site saw. The Dewalt (at the time) did NOT accomodate a dado stack, but this one does. It was difficult to find a job site saw that did back then. However, I just read the specs on the newest, high-end Dewalt saw, and it expressly stated that it does accept a 3/4 inch dado stack, max. Multiple passes incrementally increasing your depth of cut will put less strain on your motor and also be much safer. SO... Both the Dewalt and the Metabo are great saws. I'd be happy to have either. READ AND COMPARE THE SPECS and REVIEWS CAREFULLY, focusing on the features that are most important to you. Good luck. This is obviously a great deal. Regards, and safe and happy woodworking.

I had been procrastinating on this deal all morning, but you got me with this. $7 code worked, I paid $210 out the door, including the cost of that coupon. Brilliant, man, thank you!!
