I've been given the OK to post this, and it undoubtly is one of the most difficult posts I've made on this site in the 20 years I've been a member.
But it is with deep regret I announce that Finzz passed away on April 29.
She had been ill for a while and had several hospital stays over the last few months. But in the recent weeks her condition started to worsen and she unfortunately lost her battle.
I spoke with her husband Jason this evening. He is doing as well as expected. He was not a member of the SD community, but said Finzz spoke often of how much she enjoyed it here. He also mentioned how she could walk into a room full of strangers and walk out friends with just about every one of them.
He said in her will she requested any memorial contributions be made to Judge's Park, an animal rescue for small animals. You can find more information about them at https://judgespark.org .
We also discussed that Finzz did not want everyone to be sad about her passing. She loved the beach, Jimmy Buffett, and just having a darn good time. So put on some Buffett, grab a margarita, and toast our friend.

i only got a chance to meet her once but was pleased to find she was as amazing a person irl as online. once i came on staff it was awesome to get to chat with her regularly, and i was sad when she had to step away for health reasons.
sail on, friend. may you forever get to dance with jimmy buffet and your fluffs.
I don't cry and I've been bbawling.
Kami, I'll forever miss you!!
I'll not forget the delight in typing that into our mod chat when Kami came on shift.
Prayers for healing and comfort for her family and friends. Kami will be missed forever.
I knew how ill she was throughout her journey.
I met Kami once in person, as my husband and I traveled to SC. At an exit off 95, we met at a McD's for breakfast. We three probably talked for an hour or two, about many things.
As on here, she was full of life and laughter.
After that meeting, I called her my Pixie friend, as she was a very petite little lady. She was as beautiful in person as well as in here.
I'll miss Kami, our conversations and the laughter. She was an amazing woman, who now is with the angels 😇
RIP my little Pixie 🧚
If anyone would like to view photos of her. Her maiden name was Miller.

She was just the sweetest, kindest and most thoughtful person ever.
Our sky got darker but the heavens gained another shiny star. 😢

She was very Kind.
She is now at peace, somewhere up there having a margarita with Jimmy Buffet, singing and dancing to "fins to the left..fins to the right…" 🎶
RIP sweet Kami 💕
RIP and wish all her friends here the best. ❤️
