It's considered superior by a lot of folks because it's the smallest/lightest. If you're in a big shop the higher speed of the more expensive models may make a difference, but the torque is mostly irrelevant.

Agreed. I have all 4 ratchet designs and I'd definitely prefer the newer fuel one. It has a smaller head and more speed. The older fuel has a huge head and more torque but I find that to be less useful.

I'm really starting to feel like we've got a new version of the m12 surge coming out this year. I've never seen the surge on sale before and for the past few weeks it's been featured in every sale. We also have a ridgid 20v oil impact coming out next month and Dewalt came out swinging hard with their oil pulse impact driver. Here's hoping.

This is a Slick Deal! The Surge Impact alone is worth this price, plenty mechanics still love the old tried and true ratchet.
I bought a 1/4" head replacement (~$20) on ebay for my ratchet.

i just bought the 1/4" ratchet kit the other day for 130. guess i gotta return that because for $30 more i'd much rather have a 3/8" ratchet + a lightweight drill
